Top Olds Muscle Car
On the Oldsmobile muscle car food chain there is no car more rare than a 1969 Hurst/Olds with the W-45 package. First of all, only 906 Hurst/Olds were produced in 1969. The ’69 version stands apart because of the Cameo White paint scheme with hand-applied Hurst gold accents. The W-46 dual-scoop hood with hood-mounted tach is a feature treasured by collectors today. Air conditioning came with the W-45 package.
Just yesterday, a rare 1969 Hurst/Olds W-45 was listed for sale by Carolina Muscle Cars in North Carolina. This exceptional Hurst/Olds is accompanied by an extensive documentation portfolio, including original Hurst Performance Research Corporation records identifying the car as HPRC No. 349. The vehicle is further listed in the recognized Hurst/Olds registry and includes supporting historical documentation tracing its place among the limited-production 1969 Hurst/Olds models. The authenciticy and provenance for this car is off the charts. It comes with the original 455 Rocket V8 engine, factory air conditioning, Hurst Dual-Gate shifter, power steering, power brakes and exclusive Hurst/Olds styling.
Very few muscle cars of the era can match the Hurst/Olds for style and performance. According to Hurst/Olds enthusiasts and registry research, fewer than 300 of the 906 Hurst/Olds models produced for 1969 were equipped with factory air conditioning, making this a particularly desirable example for collectors seeking both performance and comfort. This one checks all the boxes for a collector.

Historic Race Car
A record setting 1968 Plymouth B029 Barracuda Super Stock Hemi car was just listed for sale on the Cars-On-Line.com website. This is the car that set a record at 10:17 in 1974, then went on to win the SS/AA Class championship at Indy as well as the Division 1 Super Stock Championship in 1983. In 1987, it won the NHRA Summer Nationals at Englishtown N.J., and later the IHRA Summer Nationals at Atco, NJ. It has a known history with some serious race owners over the years. (Read more on the ad page.) B029 Barracudas were purpose built by Chrysler to compete at the track in 1968. Only 70 Super Stock Barracudas were built that year. The same collector is also selling his 1968 Plymouth Barracuda B029 project car for sale in the Plymouth Section online. These are historic cars to own. When you own one you are a part of their history.
Inspection Sample Report
It is interesting. When we go out to inspect a vehicle for a potential buyer, it is always a journey. Some cars are just the way the seller advertises them. And then there are the ones that give you nightmares. Here is one that we did some time back. It was advertised as a 1959 Cadillac Restomod (meaning it was a classic custom. Everybody says their custom car is a restomod these days.) This car was having a bad day. The battery was dead when our inspector arrived and it had to be jump started. Upon returning from the test drive the car was leaking coolant from the radiator. However the engine started and ran well. The air came on but was not blowing cold. Worst of all, the Air Ride suspension was not operating at all. In fact, it was stuck in a position where the car would bottom out and the shocks were blown out, so the only thing keeping this car up was the Air Ride suspension stuck in an inoperable position. To top it off, the inspector found bondo in the rocker panels under the doors on both sides. The car actually looks great in the photos though. Obviously, the person who ordered the inspection got their money’s worth. They dodged a bullet when they passed on this one. You can read the full report and see what the inspector found.
Now that most classic cars are sold through the Internet. Cars-On-Line’s pre-purchase inspection service has become an essential tool for any buyer. Click here to find out how to use our Inspection Service.

1970 Pontiac GTO Judge
A rare example of a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge was listed for sale this week by Carolina Muscle Cars in North Carolina. The Granada Gold paint with yellow Judge stripes are a rarely seen combination. It has benefited from a high-quality frame-up restoration while maintaining its original drivetrain and factory-correct appearance. According to the description, it comes with Pontiac Hitorical Services (PHS) documentation, an original owner’s manual, original dealer delivery portfolio, original Protect-O-Plate and original warranty book. The records and receipts for the restoration will also come with the sale. The Ram Air III performance package make the 400 V8 engine stand out with its Turbo Hydra-matic automatic transmission and the Judge performance package. With factory Rally gauge cluster and air conditioning, this Judge has benefited from a high-quality frame-up restoration while maintaining its original drivetrain and factory-correct appearance. They say it is a true numbers matching example ready for its next owner and next chapter in history.
Bentley Hooper S1
Gullwing Motor Cars in New York is offering a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to acquire an extremely rare classic luxury car, one for the ages. This 1959 Bentley S1 Continental Saloon was coachbuilt by Hooper. Chassis BC18DJ is one of only five such cars ever produced. It is seen here in a two-tone blue over silver finish with red leather interior. For 1959, the S1 had power steering and a larger cylinder head. Gullwing says this one was converted from Right-Hand-Drive to Left-Hand-Drive for its U.S. owner. The interior and paint was redone many years ago, they say. Mechanically strong, the special motorcar is said to run and drive well. See more photos at the link. Hooper & Company was a British coachbuilder reknown for hand-crafting bespoke car bodies on luxury cars. 1959 was their last year in business, which adds to the provenance for this rare motorcar.

1967 Corvette 427 Coupe
A private party seller from Lessburg, Florida just listed his high end, award winning big block Corvette for sale. When he posted his 1967 Corvette 427 Coupe in a Slide Show ad in our Corvette Section he wanted to know how to include a video of the car. He was surprised to hear that we do not charge extra for that very important piece of the ad package here on Cars-On-Line.com. We think everyone should be using video in their ads. We don’t charge for it. This 427 Corvette certainly deserves the extra effort. He actually has two videos on his ad page now, with a detailed walk-around included. You can hear it run and get the feel of an authentic mid-year big block. This is a multi-year NCRS judged Corvette that scored 98.9 points recently.
Have you seen our CarsOnLine.tv Classic Car Video marketplace? To feature your car on CarsOnLine.tv, just add a video to your Cars-On-Line.com ad. Collector Cars with Low Miles
1978 Corvette Anniversary
Streetside Classics, a classic car dealer in the Phoenix area, just posted this 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition for sale this week. They tell us it has just 13,17 actual miles from new. It is not too surprising to see such low miles on a collector Corvette that was “born to be collectible” from day-one because of its special edition status. Many of these Corvettes were purchased new and immediately stored away for their future collector value. Thus the low miles. It has the L82 small block 350 Corvette engine with automatic transmission and power 4-wheel disc brakes, plus air shocks, power steering, air conditioning and the desirable Oyster interior. And their price is pretty reasonable considering the collector potential with this Corvette.
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:
1979 Lincoln Continental, MGM Classic Cars, IL, 15k original miles
2001 Corvette Z06, Streetside Tampa, 16,005 actual miles
1996 Corvette Grand Sport, Streetside Atlanta, 29,115 actual miles
1996 Corvette Grand Sport, Classic Auto Mall, PA, 33,705 actual miles
2004 Lexus SC400, Classic Car Studio, MO, 37,259 miles
1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, MGM Classic Cars, IL, 43,508 miles
1985 Lincoln Town Car, Streetside Nashville, TN, 57,528 miles
You’ll find these and hundreds more in our Low Miles Section online now.
Project Vehicles for Restoration
1957 Jaguar XK140 Drophead
The Primrose Yellow 1957 Jaguar XK140 Convertible, which was just listed by Gullwing Motor Cars out of New York, might be an easy restoration. Just out of a 40-year ownership, it remains largely original. They say, with a little effort, it could be a presentable driver quality car. It will be an exciting opportunity and excellent value for a marque enthusiast or collector. The older repaint is showing its age in a few places with some cracks and there is some pitting of the chrome. The interior will also require some attention as the wood trim needs to be redone. But the car looks great in the photos, evidence of the solid body. For the right buyer, this could be a money maker.
The following are just some of the cars available in the Project Car Section this week:
1957 Bentley S1 RHD, Beverly Hills Car Club, CA
1967 Ferrari 330GTC, Beverly Hills Car Club, CA

1967 Mustang Fastback
A private party seller out of Canada has dropped the price on his 1967 Mustang Fastback. From the photos this car might make a great driver quality car to enjoy for the summer. He says it was a frame-on restoration, and it looks clean in the photos. It has the 289 ci V8 Mustang engine with automatic transmission and the deluxe interior. He says it still runs and drives as new. He says there are “No disappointemtns” with this one. He was asking $79,000 for the classic Mustang. But just this week he dropped the price to $74,900. That price is in US currency.

This 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge is an interesting tribute car. The donor car is an actual 242 VIN Code GTO with actual miles on the title. Deals of the Day
1964 Oldsmobile F-85 Convertible
This 1964 Oldsmobile F-85 Convertible is an early example of a Cutlass. The seller says it is a “nice driving” classic Oldsmobile with nice road manners. The red Oldsmobile classic is an early muscle car that has a 330 ci V8 engine, backed by an automatic transmission. The private party seller from Connecticut says it runs “great.” He says all the electricals are working including the power top. It has power steering and power brakes. He says it has low mileage but did not list the exact miles. You will have to all him to find out. From the photos, the engine compartment looks real clean. He did not provide a photo of the interior. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the price is very affordable at just $24,500.
1935 Dodge Sedan
An interesting “old school” street rod was listed for sale yesterday by a private party owner from Rydal, Georgia. He purchased the 1935 Dodge Sedan street rod a few years ago, and believes it was built in Southern California around the year 1992. The build used a late 1980’s IROC Camaro as a donor car. The front end has been “clipped” and now has an independent front suspension with 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, power windows, power brakes, electric antenna, radio and cold air conditioning. He says everything works. The interior has bucket seats, tilt steering column and a kill switch. The engine is the stock Camaro small block with Tuned Port Injection, $ speed automatic trans and modern Chevrolet rear end. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $25,000.
1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner
Ford called it the “Hideaway Hardtop” … it was a mass production miracle that nobody thought could be done. This week the Classic Auto Mall listed a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable for sale at “an extremely affordable price.” What’s more, this family owned Skyliner has only 33,450 title verified, actual miles. The same family owned this car for over 50 years and kept it well protected in the family garage. However, you will see from the photos that there is pitting, cracking and crazing in the paint and chrome. The undercarriage is pretty ugly. But they say it runs and drives the way this ’57 was designed to run. The top is “finicky” in their words. And the front turn signals do not work. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price on this one is only $26,500.
1927 Ford Model T
By 1927 the Ford Model T had run its course. Even Henry had to admit they needed an upgrade to the Model A. After two decades of automotive innovation, the car that made transportation available to the masses was retired. So that last year Model T is very collectible today. Here is a 1927 Ford Model T Coupe as presented for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It has the Highland Green paint (Henry, it’s not black.) Look at those artillery-style spoke wheels and the hood louvers. Of course, it uses a the vaunted 4-cylinder inline four engine to propel the 2-speed planetary transmission. Step inside and you’ll find comfortable bench seating along with the simple, functional design that defined early American motoring. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on the front page of the website on Tuesday next week. The asking price is $12,750.
1954 Nash Ambassador
It is always interesting how a collector sees an old car. Many would view this 1954 Nash Ambassador and only see how dated the design looks. However quirky the original Nash design might be, the older it gets, the more beautiful it seems to look. This Nash is a great example. Someone took the time to blend the older design with some more recent technology, such as a small block V8, automatic transmission, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, air conditioning and Holley LED headlamps along with an Alpine stereo. Beverly Hills Car Club has it for sale this week. They call it a custom restomod. Thelas Continental kit is a nice touch. You will get attention at your local car shows with this one. They tell us it is a charming and distinctive classic, and they report it to be mechanically sound. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week. Their asking price is $14,750.
1994 Plymouth Sundance Duster
The sporty Duster name was ressurected in the 1990’s to spark some sales in the Plymouth Sundance platform, the front-wheel-drive hatchback “three-door” compact car designed by Chrysler. The 1994 Plymouth Duster package denoted a sportier version of the Sundance. The private party seller from Colorado considers it a Radwood-era cruiser which he calls the “ultimate P-body” Chrysler. He was so into this car that he fully restored it. So this meticulously revived example features the factory correct 3.0L Mitsubishi V6 paired with a rare 5-speed manual transmission. (Most of the Dusters in ’94 had four cylinder engines and automatic transmissions.) He says the result is a more engaged driving expeience. He says the restoration includes a “zero-mile” engine, new clutch, complete fuel system, new gas tank, custom Emerald Green Pearl metallic paint, new tires, battery, windshield and headliner. The clean interior shows off its classic ‘90s style. This one is collector worthy at a real affordable price. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $10,000.
1984 Pontiac Fiero
No, that is not a factory color. But it sure makes this 1984 Pontiac Fiero stand out. Can you believe they put a small block Chevy V8 in this little sports car? It is being advertised for sale by HaggleMe, an internet broker who helps Baby Boomers sell their cars on the internet. They point out that this little Fiero actually has a 383 stroker motor based on a small block Chevy engine, and fed by aluminum heads. The transmission is a 4-speed manual. They say it is fast, fun and in excellent condition. You can see from the photos that this electric green Fiero has a modified high rise hood. You will notice the trendy 1980’s styled oversized wheels and tires. They look perfect for this styling. You will have to admit, this one was done right. Millenials, here is your ride. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price Is $16,900. You will have the only one like it.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
