1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Shortbed, 302, Auto, 4WD
This truck has over $15k invested! Below is a list of options and work done
• Everything underneath this truck has been replaced (minus the front axle)
• New Rough Country front end kit
• New Rough Country 3″ Lift kit and suspension(shocks, rear leaf springs)
• New Dana 60 Rear Axle (this alone was over 3k)
• Rebuilt C6 Transmission
• New BF Goodrich 33″ Tires all around
• New Gas Tank (this has dual tanks, but we only replaced the rear and took out the front. The front can be re-installed as the plumbing and wiring is still there)
• The engine is a 302 (we bought it with this, previous owner said it had been rebuilt–I believe it’s an ’89)
• New Edelbrock 1406 4 BBL Carb
• New Disc Brakes
The interior is all original and could use some love (but it’s functional). All power options work. Most of the paint is original. The body was mostly clean-However, the rear arches above the wheels were rusted. We replaced them with new factory stamped metal, and fixed a few other random spots of rust (not a professional job by any means). The undercarriage was in perfect condition, no rust on the pans.
My son has loved and worked on this truck for the last few years. This is his dream truck. However, he needs a better commuter car for college-It will be hard for him to let this one go.
These shortbeds are getting harder and harder to find. The 70s shorts are completely priced out. These 80s are making their way to those prices, so get it now
