Celebrity Car Find
Here is a classic Chevy convertible that has as much notoriety and provenance as any we’ve come across in the last decade. First of all, it was owned by rock legend Jim Peterik, the founder of the rock band Survivor. It was restored to show quality concours condition and still runs and drives as good as it looks, according to Peterik..
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible was just listed for sale by owner, Jim Peterik, a Chicago native and still lives in the area. Growing up in the Baby Boom generation, Peterik was always a car guy. His first hit record was with his high school group, The Ides of March, called Vehicle. It is considered a rock anthem of sorts. Later he founded the famous rock band Survivor. In 1982 he co-wrote the song Eye of a Tiger for the Rocky movie.
One of Peterik’s passions has been the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible seen here in its Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige two-tone paint. He has said that it is the one car he always wanted. He bought the car already restored, in 100 percent perfect condition. With just 2,200 miles since the restoration, you can tell it was well maintained. And it is well oppointed with the right options. It has the 265 ci V8 with the Power Pack 4-barrel, dual exhaust, factory Continental kit, automatic transmission, power seat, power steering, power brakes, power windows and power top.
This car is for sale and will be a wonderful addition to any collection. Peterik is offering to throw in a guitar with his signature as part of the sale. Sometimes its the story behind the car that makes it super collectible.

NASCAR Concept Car Recreation
You say you have never heard of a Ford Galaxie Starlift? Well, neither has Ford. It is a concept recreation of the Ford Galaxie that Ford NASCAR engineers came up with in 1962 to win NASCAR competition once and for all. The car they created won the Atlanta 500 with Freddie Lorenzon driving. It had a modified roof from a Ford Starliner and a 406 ci big block engine with tripower carburetion. Of course, there were protests from Chevrolet and Chrysler, so NASCAR was forced to ban it from further competition. But Ford engineers were not giving up. They even stroked the 406 to 483 and went Salt Flat racing at Bonneville where it broke 46 land speed records. The development of this car paved the way for the fastback roof Galaxies in 1963 and the 427 sideoiler blocks with cross-drilled cranks that year. So this 1962 Ford Galaxie“Starlift” is a recreation of the concept cars which would have dominated NASCAR in 1962 if they had been allowed to compete. Built as a tribute, it was just listed for sale today by a collector from Canada. Click the photos in the Slide Show ad to get more information and build specs. You will be impressed by the historic detail of the build. Here is an opportunity to own a “one-of-a-kind” historic piece with a lot of back-story behind it.
Back to the 50’s Weekend
If you’ve been waiting all the long winter for a really good car show to go to, we’ve got one for you this weekend. The Minnesota Street Rod Association is sponsoring their 52nd Annual Back to the 50’s Weekend, June 19-21, 2026, at the fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minnesota. They built this fairgrounds area like a little city with real wide streets so you can angle park cars on both sides and have two lanes of traffic going down the middle. Instead of sitting around all day next to your car, you put the top down and cruise around the fairgrounds as over 11,000 cars are on display. The displays go on for miles and miles. All the while the streets are packed with spectators. They say the vehicles must be ’64 or older, but you will often see muscle cars in the mix. It is an amazing experience for both show goers and car owners alike. (Click here for a Cars-On-Line review of a previous year’s event with photos and video so you know what we mean.)
If you bookmark your Cars-On-Line.com Car Show Calendar online you won’t miss any of the top events in the country, like this one. The show season is well underway. Plan your road trips with the Car Show Calendar today.

1963 Max Wedge Savoy
You don’t find too many original one-owner Super Stock cars, but here is one. A Pennsylvania collector just listed this 1963 Plymouth Max Wedge Savoy for sale. This is a 2-Door Post sedan 426 Super Stock car. That is an 11:1 compression engine with stock 4.25” bore. It is black with an Alabaster interior, and the seller says it still has just 19,300 original miles. It is recorded as having a purchase date of 11/16/62. It remains extremely clean and comes with its original paperwork, including a bill of sale, loan paperwork, and the original owner’s manual and warranty book with the serial number embossed on the front of the cover. There are articles on the internet that will lead you to believe that only 18 Max Wedge Savoys were produced. That might not be so accurate, but we do know that about 177 high compression Savoys were produced that year. The horsepower on these cars was likely way over the factory rating of 425. With high compression and ram air induction, these Super Stock cars were purpose built race cars. They had incredible straight line acceleration for those days. You have to admit. This is an amazing find!
2026 Morgan Plus 4
Although the first generation of the British Morgan Plus 4 sports cars ended in 1969, the popular two-seater could not be kept down. Morgan Motor Company came out with a second generation in 1985 which lasted until 2000. The third generation appeared in 2005 and lasted until 2020. Each generation made improvements. Then in 2020, Morgan unveiled a rebranded “Plus Four” model built on the new CX-Generation bonded aluminum chassis. Yet it retains the ash timber body frame which is tradition for the Morgan Motor Company, and they still do coachwork by hand. This week Flemings Ultimate Garage in Rockville, Maryland, listed a 2026 Morgan Plus Four sports car for sale. It has the BMW 2.0 liter twin-turbo inline 4 cylinder engine and BMW ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. The mirror finish Ferrari Grigio Ferro paint is highly detailed, in contrast to the deep red heated bucket seats. The 2026 Morgan Plus Four blends timeless British craftsmanship with modern engineering, making it one of the most unique roadsters on the market today.
1941 Willys “Swoopster”
The “Swoopster” concept came about when Dennis Taylor of Dennis Taylor Reproductions designed and built a Willys coupe in a radical style. Then he began making variations of the “Swoopster” look in fiberglass reproductions, providing kits to custom builders who wanted to construct their own versions. This week a 1941 Willys “Swoopster” Roadster was listed for sale by Hanksters Hot Rods in Daytona Beach, Florida. It has a 454 big block Chevy V8, backed by a GM TH400 automatic transmission and a Ford 9” Posi rear end. The Dennis Taylor fiberglass body uses Ride Tech Air Ride suspension, 4-link, 4-wheel disc brakes, tubular upper and lower control arms and rack & pinion steering. It rides on Billet Specialty Legacy wheels, 17” in front and 20” in back. They say this custom street machine has a hot rod attitude. Click here to view a walk-around video and hear it run. It is a bagger so you can slam it for show displays. And it has remote suicide doors. The price is right, too.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
You’ll want to call the owner on this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup truck that was just posted for sale in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. There has to be a great story on this truck. The ad copy says it is an unrestored original truck with only 16,000 actual miles. And it is titled to prove that. Of course, the truck is rust free and they say it presents in very good to excellent condition. The interior, engine bay and undercarriage are very nice, as the copy says. It till has the original 216 ci engine rated at 92 horsepower. It has the 3-speed manual transmission on the column. They put the 650×16 Coker Classic radials on with new wheels just 400 miles ago. It has been updated with seat belts and a new battery, according to the private party seller. He says it is a 4-owner truck that has received excellent care all its life. Project Vehicles for Restoration
1967 Camaro RS/SS 350
It has been sneaking up on us in recent years. Quietly, the first generation Camaros are disappearing from the resale market. You are had pressed to find one for sale at a decent price these days. So the next best thing is to find one like this 1967 Camaro RS/SS 350 project car that is really nice but needs some finish work to get it back on the road. This one is being offered for sale at Universal Muscle Cars in Maryland. They bought it out of an estate with the idea of finishing it as a hot rod restomod. But their own shop time is all booked up right now. So they are putting this one on the market in case someone would like to finish it themselves. They say all the hard work is already done. Your gain.
The following are just some of the cars available in the Project Car Section this week:
