Timeless Perfection
When I was in grade school the jeweler in my hometown had a Jaguar XKE parked outside his store. My schoolmates and I would oogle over it everyday on our way home from school. We knew that car existed in another world which seemed untouchable and exotic to us at the time. It looked fast just standing still. To us it defined automotive perfection. Today an E-Type Jaguar looks just as good to me as it did back then. Timeless perfection.
This week a 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 Roadster was listed for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. Finished in Signal Red with a tan leather interior, it comes with two tops and they tell us it is numbers matching . It has the 4.2 liter six cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission, and it has front wheel disc brakes. The Connolly leather interior will surprise you at how clean it is. This one must have been nicely maintained. Of course, it has the cockpit style dash with Smith instruments, wood steering wheel and toggle switches. It is rare to find one with the color matched removable hardtop. Their description says it has restoration receipts which total over $70,000 (see photos for copies of receipts.)
Under the hood you will find three sidedraft Weber carburetors feeding the inline six cylinder engine. The tri-carbs are an upgrade. While the undercarriage has a lot of painted over areas, a good pre-purchase inspection should be able to determine if any of them are soft.
The average value on a 4.2 liter Jaguar E-Type is $100,000 to $120,000. Beverly Hills Car Club’s price is way below that. This might be the one worth looking into.

Vehicle Reports
If you are purchasing a car registered in 2009 or later, there is a government database called the National Motor Vehicle Title Information Service (NMVTIS.) It is a federal database maintained by the U.S. Department of Justice to protect buyers from title fraud and sales of unsafe vehicles. An NMVTIS report includes the title history from state DMVs, including any title brands, meaning if a title has been branded salvage, rebuilt, flood damage, junked, etc.) It would also record whether a car had been totalled by an insurance company. It also records title mileage at each transfer. A basic NMVTIS report runs around $5–15 from approved providers like VehicleHistory.gov, NICB’s free VINCheck, or various state DMV portals. Services such as CarFax or AutoCheck pull from NMVTIS plus additional sources (repair shops, auction records, service facilities), so they typically offer more detail—but also cost more. Also, CarFax will be able to pull information for vehicles as far back as 1981 when the 17-digit VIN was adopted.
Amelia Island Concours
The Amelia Island Concours has become to the East Coast what the Pebble Beach Concours is to the West Coast, one of the most important concours car shows in the world. The Best in Show Concours winners were announced at this year’s show held last weekend. A 1931 Duesenberg Model J owned by the William Lyon Family of Cote de Caza, California won Best in Show Concours d’Elegance, while the 1969 McLaren M8B Can-Am Racer, owned by Mouse Motors of Chicago, Illinois, won Best in Show Concours de Sport (both cars shown here at the Amelia Island Concours this past weekend, photo by Bob Boberg of eClassicAutos.com.) Our readers will be interested to note that the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Amelia Island Concours was the 1966 Ford GT40 owned by Peter Klutt, who also owns Legendary Motorcar Company, a regular contributor to the Cars-On-Line.com Dealer Network. Follow our coverage of this year’s Amelia Island Concours when you read the full report here on the eClassicAutos.com website. It is worth a look to see all of Boberg’s photos and videos capturing the spirit of the Amelia. This show is emerging as one of the top shows for the automotive purist.

1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code
NASCAR required auto manufacturers to produce a minumun number of street version cars available for the public to buy before they would sanction them for stock car racing competition. In 1957 Ford Motor Company decided to put a McCulloch Paxton supercharger in their factory 312 V8 engine to race in NASCAR. They built about 200 of them for new car buyers to purchase that year. These special 312 supercharged engines were designated F-Code. They were paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. They were so fast that NASCAR banned them and all supercharged cars shortly after the NASCAR season began. But those few F-Code Thunderbirds which still exist are of special interest to car collectors today. This Raven Black 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code is scheduled to be offered at auction during the upcoming GAA Classic Spring Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina next month. Find out more at the link.
Olds 442 W-30 Convertible
Here is one of the rarest 442 W-30 Oldsmobiles of all. This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible was just listed for sale by Classic Car Deals, an internet broker representing their client. The car is located in Kansas. It is one of just 121 W-30 convertibles produced. Only 91 of those came with a factory 4-speed like this one. It has the 400 “Ram Rod” V8 engine, putting out 360 horsepower as factory rated. Along with the W-30 forced air induction system, it has a 12-bolt anti-spin rear end with the rare W-27 aluminum cover. It is equipped with power steering and front disc brakes. They say this care underwent a body-off rotisserie restoration in 2019. The color is Sable Brown with gold stripes. The gold interior is said to be fully restored including the bucket seats and console, and it has the Rally Pac gauges and sport steering wheel.
Ferrari 330GT 2+2 Series II
Take a close look at the photos of this Rosso Corsa 1966 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 Series II left-hand drive edition. It is being offered for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club this week in Los Angeles. Only 424 left-hand-drive Series II examples are thought to have been produced in Maranello. This one is said to be numbers matching and presents beautifully with a Nero interior. What is really impressive about this 330GT is its provenance. According to the Marcel Massini report on this car it was originally sold in Milan, Italy, then ten years later migrated to the U.S. Throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s the Ferrari passed through a litany of noted Americans (read the ad copy for full details.) In 1993, the vehicle was sold to Ryuzo Kuroki who moved to Tokyo, Japan, where it remained for over 30 years. The Pininfarina-designed 330GT Series II is a rare opportunity to acquire an historic centerpiece for your collection. Their asking price is way below the going value on a No. 2 condition Ferrari 330GT. Condition is the key here.
Auctions
Over 750 vehicles are being consigned now to cross the auction stage next month when the GAA Classic Spring Auction happens in Greensboro, North Carolina, April 9-11, 2026. This sale is so mainstream that we consider it to be the best barometer of what prices should be on these top end collector cars. (Collectors might want to read our GAA Classic Auction coverage from last month as a preview of what to expect in April.) Classic car dealers from throughout the Southwestern U.S. will be on hand to buy special cars for their inventories. And countless more from all over the country will be buying online or over the phone. But the event is open to the public and anybody with a bidder’s registration can bid on these cars. Here are a few that we noted will be crossing the auction block at No Reserve.
1965 Shelby Cobra
Here is an interesting find. We spotted this 1965 Shelby Cobra recreation in the GAA Classic Spring Auction inventory this week. It is scheduled to go through the auction on Saturday, April 11, Lot # 0055. And it will be sold at No Reserve. This little Cobra comes with a title branded as a rebuilt and an NMVTIS report. A previous title was branded collision, so it has had some damage from an accident. It also has its service records. The consignor says it has about 3,600 miles although the title is mileage exempt. Powered by a 408 ci stroker engine and 5-speed manual transmission, it is equipped with 15” American Racing wheels, a roll bar hoop, tonneau cover and side pipes. Sound comes from a Pioneer stereo and it has VDO instruments. Contact GAA Classics prior to the sale for inspection info. It might be a diamond in the rough.
1964 Cadillac DeVille
Low miles classic Cadillacs are always in the auction inventory here at the GAA Classic Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina. Here is a 1964 Cadillac DeVille Hardtop we noted in their upcoming sale inventory. It will be offered at No Reserve on Thursday, April 9, the first day of the sale. Offered in blue with a white vinyl top and white interior, it is said to have undergone an extensive recommissioning in 2023. The redo included conversion of the factory air to a more recent system. It comes with 6-way power seats, power door locks and power windows. Some upgrades make it more dependable, such as Holley fuel injection, aluminum radiator and new axle seats in the transmission. It also has an updated exhaust system. In the ad photos you will see extensive receipts and service records. What do you think it will sell for?
2006 Cadillac XLR Convertible
Another Cadillac which was just added to their Thursday sale at No Reserve is a very desirable 2006 Cadillac XLR Convertible late model sports car. This is another car that was in an accident in 2015. The CarFax and AutoCheck reports say the air bags were deployed. It has had recent service to the retractable hardtop. These XLR’s are highly sought after by collectors. They were produced by Cadillac from 2004 until 2009. It was a luxury roadster built on the same platform as the Corvette C6. But the Cadillac version featured a retractable hardtop and Northstar V8 engine. Only about 15,000 were produced over the entire six-year production run. They are just now starting to be on the collector’s radar. Here is a chance to own one before the collector craze sets in. These XLR’s were born to be collectible.

1969 Camaro
Andy has an exceptional 1969 Camaro from California this week that comes with the original Pink Slip issued in 1974. We gleaned that from the video ad posted this week by Laguna Classic Cars in Laguna Beach, California. For 49 years it has been well maintained and babied. Not all original, but a great driver that shows pride of ownership. Click the video window above to watch a walk-around video. Then get in with Andy for a test drive. The factory shoulder belts are unique. It fires right up and you can go for a quick drive. It really gets up and goes. The updated Pioneer sound system with Bluetooth rounds out the inspection. The new motor was done in 2013, transmission rebuilt in 2023, disc brakes added during this past year. Nice driving Camaro.

When the seller first listed the Sedan Delivery, he wanted to get $49,000 for the vehicle. But just this week he dropped the price to $44,900.

Deals of the Day
1958 Studebaker Silver Hawk
A red/black 1958 Studebaker Silver Hawk was just listed for sale by Haggle Me, and internet broker selling the car for their consignor client. They say it has all been redone, but documentation is not noted in the ad copy. The updates include paint, carpet, and chrome, according to the ad copy. They say it runs well. This is a six cylinder car. For more information you should have this one inspected. You can find out the condition class and how it runs out from an independent third party. Plus you get nearly 100 photos with the pre-purchase inspection through COL. Because it has a lot of potential it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is only $17,900.
1941 Buick Special Touring
By 1941, Buick was showing a longer, lower and wider design that kept in step with the times. The smoothed fenders and “waterfall” grille gave it an upscale look for the era. Inside you would find woodgrain-look dash trim and chrome interior accents creating aesthetic and trendy appeal. This 1941 Buick Special Touring Sedan has been owned by an avid Buick collector for the past 30 years. The odometer is showing just 46k miles. It is being offered for sale at Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois (suburb of Chicago.) It features a “smooth” 248ci 8 cylinder engine with stock dual caruretors and a three-speed manual transmission. Click here for a walk-around video and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $19,900.
1948 Ford Coupe
A unique looking two-tone 1948 Ford Coupe has been restored as a restomod custom. Instead of a Flathead, this one has a fuel injected 5.0L Ford V8 and automatic transmission with overdrive. It is being offered for sale this week at Streetside Classics in the Tampa area. They say it was built on a late model chassis. This was an original Super Deluxe Ford coupe which now has modern steel wheels. The custom cloth interior matches the exterior paint. You will note that it needs a headliner. The car is a driver (note the undercarriage shows it gets driven.) Click here to watch an interesting walk-around video and hear it run. That 5.0 is showhorned into the engine compartment. But it runs out the way you would expect. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $19,995.
1951 MG TD Roadster
This is an original looking 1951 MG TD Roadster (not a replica) which must have been recommissioned at some point. (Note the data tag from Abingdon-on-Thames in the ad photos.) The odometer shows 18k miles, but the actual miles are unknown. It is offered for sale at Streetside Classics in the Nashville area. They did a walk-around video on their ad page so you can see it and hear it run. The interior is very clean and it has the wood dash. The undercarriage looks pretty solid although it obviously gets driven (not detailed for show.) The 1250 cc inline 4-cylinder engine sounds strong, and it runs through the gears as you can see in the video. There is even a photo of some extra original parts that must go with the sale. It has been repainted and now sports a 5-speed manual transmission. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. They have the price set at $17,995.
1994 Mazda Miata
A white 1994 Mazda Miata MX-5 was just listed for sale with a black interior and black convertible top. The price on this one will lure you in. It also sports a rear spoiler. It has the 1.8 Liter Inline 4 cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It is being offered for sale by Streetside Classics out of their Atlanta area location. With “great paint” and only 93k actual miles, it has been in the same family since 1996. Streetside tells us it has a “rare A Package.” The “A Package” came with power steering, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum alloy wheels and a cassette stereo system. You can see the walk-around video at the link. Note the leather nose guard. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week on the COL home page. Their asking price is only $10,995.
2007 Pontiac Solstice
Pontiac tried in its last days to put the fun back in the Pontiac brand. One of its best efforts was the Pontiac Solstice, a small two-seater sports car with signature swoopy lines and powered by a peppy 2.4-liter DOHC inline 4 cylinder engine. This Summit White 2007 Pontiac Solstice was just listed for sale by Streetside Classics out of their Tampa area location. With Ebony leather interior, the dual bucket seats are comfortable as the driver reads the 140-mph speedometer and 8,000 rpm tach. The power is routed through a 5-speed automatic transmission. These cars handle well because of the four-wheel disc brakes and fully independent suspension. It comes with power windows, power locks, power mirrors, air conditioning and cruise control. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week with a price of $18,995.

2007 Saturn Sky
Here is a Sunburst Yellow 2007 Saturn Sky Redline Edition with low miles and a black interior. It was just listed for sale through Classic Car Deals, an internet broker selling this car for their client in South Carolina. The Redline package includes the 2.0 Liter Turbocharged 4 cylinder engine said to generate 260 horsepower. They say it has 47,354 miles, and comes with a 5-speed manual transmission equipped with a “short shift” kit. The 18-inch chrome wheels are ultra modern even today. While the air conditioning blows cold inside the car, the Monsoon audio system is enhanced with an Android head unit with a backup camera. Classic Car Deals tells us everything works. There are some minor paint and body blemishes described in the ad copy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The price is set at $17,495.
