Popular Pace Car
After 1969 the Indianapolis 500 Pace Car became a national icon of motorsports. That’s because the most popular Indy Pace Car was introduced that year … the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Convertible, one of the most respected automotive designs of all time. Authentic ’69 Pace Car convertibles are musch sought after by collectors today.
A 1969 Camaro RS/SS Indy Pace Car Convertible was just listed for sale by Streetside Classics out of their Atlanta store. It is one of 3,675 such Code Z11 Pace Cars created by Chevrolet that year. The pace cars came in Dover White finish with the Orange rally stripes and functional cowl induction hood. The orange houndstooth interior was exclusive to the Pace Car that year. This one has the 350 small block engine and automatic transmission with a 12-bolt rear end. It has been fully restored and comes with receipts and photo documentation of the restoration.
GM knew they had something special when they tweaked the design on their popular Camaro for 1969. The ’69 Camaro was a design for the ages. That’s why Chevrolet jumped to show it off as the Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500 that year. The Camaro Pace Car was so popular among new car buyers that Chevrolet produced 3,675 pace car editions to distribute to dealerships around the country. That was the most pace car special editions ever built by an auto manufacturer up to that time. The Z11 option was listed on the window sticker as “Indy 500 Pace Car Accents.” Door decals were included and were shipped in the trunk. The buyer could have them installed by the dealer.
Today these historic Pace Cars command high values as every high end collection has to have one.

Tribute To A Hero
As we look back on 2025 we wanted to pay tribute to legendary NASCAR Champion Bobby Allison. The Hall of Fame race car driver won the NASCAR Championship in 1983. Over three decades, he won the Daytona 500 three times with 85 career NASCAR wins. He was the founder of the Alabama Gang, a noted group of drivers from Hueytown, Alabama. And, in a famous incident in 1979, he and Cale Yarborough got into a fist fight on the track at the Daytona 500 which made national headlines. At the age of 50, he won the Daytona 500 for the third time narrowly edging out his son Davey, who came in second. The race that ended his career was also in 1988 at the Pocono Raceway where he popped a tire and another driver t-boned his car sending him to the hospital. He was unconscious for several days and suffered some severe memory loss as a result of the accident. Racing took a toll on Bobby. His son Clifford died in a crash during practice for a NASCAR Busch Series race in Michigan, and Davey died in a helicopter crash approaching Talladega Speedway. We met Bobby Allison at the Daytona Turkey Run in 2014. Our Dream Restorations, a local Florida builder, had taken his unrestored Chevy Pickup project truck and restored it as a full custom in tribute to his legendary career. We were there for the unveiling (see photo above.) He was so thrilled to see that truck restored to show quality. (Click here to read the story.) Bobby was beloved by his fans. His last words, “Remember the good times, keep the faith and always push forward.” NASCAR said that Allison’s incredible talent and fierce determination made him a fan favorite and an inspiration to many. He passed away last month at his home in Mooresville, North Carolina at the age of 86 due to alzheimers. He was a true American hero.
Hydrogen Powered ’57 Chevy
CRC Industries has entered a cool 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop in the 2026 Barrett-Jackson Auction in January. There is a twist here. This ’57 Chevy is powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology. The Barrett-Jackson Auction has chosen the ’57 Chevy to be one of their charity auctions to fund CRC’s Build for the Future scholarship initiative. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction sale will benefit the TechForce Foundation, the non-profit that provides scholarships to aspiring technicians to help close the skilled trades employment gap. The cherry-red ’57 Chevy was unveiled at the 2024 SEMA Show. Completed in collaboration with CRC partners, Clay Millican, NHRA Top Fuel champion, and Jeffrey Lutz of Lutz Race Cars. Millican documented the build on social media with the help of various donors to the project. The ’57 Chevy has a hydrogen-fueled 5.7 liter Gen 3 Hemi V8 engine, built by Industry legend Mike Copeland, CEO of Arrington Performance. It boosts power with an Edelbrock 2650 supercharger to deliver 500 horsepower. The automatic transmission is by TCI. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and a custom red-and-black interior. More info about the Build for the Future scholarships can be found here at their web page.

1955 Chevrolet 150 Restomod
Greg’s got a fresh 1955 Chevrolet 150 Restomod for sale this week. He wants to show you the Roadster Shop frame and LT4 6.2L V8 under the hood. The 650 horsepower custom show car is “gorgeous,” in his words. Look at the interior! All custom finished in red leather with front bucket seats and center console. Notice the Billet Specialties steering wheel, custom gauges and Lokar shifter. There is so much to see on this one, you will want to watch the whole video at the window above. Collector Cars with Low Miles
2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniv
A 2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Edition was just listed yesterday in our Camaro Section online. This amazingly preserved special edition has all the SLP upgrades and features the requisite Hurst Short Throw shifter directing the 6-speed manual transmission. But the salient virtue of this Camaro is that it still has only 191 actual miles on it. Somebody wanted to make this one collectible. Yes, it has the racing suspension, rear center ehaust and is rated at 345 horsepower. The owner points out that it still has original factory plastic covers on the rear seats (see photo.) Needless to say, this one is mint!
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:
2000 Camaro SS Convertible, Connors Motorcar Co, PA, 18,000 miles
2000 Corvette Convertible, Connors Motorcar Co, PA, 10k miles

Project Vehicles for Restoration
1957 Aston Martin DB2/4
What is a 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 worth today? That’s a great question to ponder. Here is one that was just listed by Gullwing Motor Cars out of New York. The problem we have here is that the drive shaft is out on this one, so it is more of a project car than a driver. Currently in need of restoration, they tell us it is numbers matching and comes with a British Heritage Trust Certificate. It was originally delivered to California when new. It is in its factory Deep Carriage Green finish with a beige interior. Gullwing tells us it is a straight, solid, honest example that is ideal for an easy restoration. It would be quite a trophy for a high end collector.
The following are just some of the cars available in the Project Car Section this week:
1984 Porsche 911 Carrrera, Gullwing Motor Cars, NY
1952 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster, Gullwing Motor Cars, NY

Muscle Car Clones
Hertz Rent-A-Racer Tribute
The 1966 Shelby GT350H Hertz Rent-A-Racer is one of the greatest stories coming out of the muscle car era. The black and gold GT350H is such an iconic looking example of Shelby history that it is commonly replicated. Here is an interesting example of a GT350H tribute which was just listed for sale at Streetside Classics in Fort Worth, Texas. It is priced right, too. Take a close look at the photos and you will find that it was restored accurately with the gold stripes looking authentic. Inside the bucket seats are in good condition and it has a set of Rally Pac gauges. Under the hood is a period-correct 289 V8 which idles smoothly and has shorty headers and a Holley 4-barrel. Nice exhaust note from the dual exhaust.

Deals of the Day
1973 Hurst Oldsmobile
We were really impressed with some of the prices on very interesting collectible muscle cars that appeared in our listings this week. For instance, this 1973 Hurst Oldsmobile is one of only 1,079 such Hurst Olds to be produced in ’73. The Hurst edition, reknowned for its performance history and upgrades is a distinctive Cutlass. This one is being offered for sale at Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois this week. Equipped with the big block 455 V8 engine, the Oldsmobile brings the power, and its carefully crafted interior provides the comfort and style lacking in many muscle cars of the era. It has an automatic transmission with console shift, a classic His and Hers shifter set in woodgrain trim. It comes with power steering and power front disc brakes, plus air conditioning. The interior has factory swivel front bucket seats. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is $24,900. You can’t find another historic muscle car In this price range.
1956 Ford Thunderbird
Be sure to follow up on this 1956 Ford Thunderbird today! Do you have the phone in your hands, yet? You want to ask Unique Classic & Specialty Cars in Minnesota what condition class this first gen T-Bird is in? If it is driver class or better then this is a steal! The T-Bird was just listed and they do not have their full description on the ad page as of yet. (Truthfully, they might sell it before they have a chance to write one up.) We know it is a Snow Crest White T-Bird with 39,678 on the odometer. You will have to determine if those are original miles or rolled over. Look at all the photos of the body. Ask about the panel gaps and fitment. Could it be as solid as it looks in the photos? You might want to have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday (if it lasts that long.) Their asking price is $21,900.
1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
The upscale Chevrolet Monte Carlo was a very desirable car to buy back in the day. And if it had a big block under the hood it commanded a lot of attention. That is still true today among muscle car collectors. The Monte Carlo had a sophistication you did not always get out of a muscle car. And it came with creature comforts. Here is a 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with a 402 big block motor. It is being offered for sale at Ross Customs in Michigan this week. You can tell from the photos that is is a very clean Monte Carlo in Arctic White finish with factory original Soft-Ray tinted glass in excellent condition. Somebody enhanced it with a Z28 hood. The interior, too, is in excellent condition according to the ad copy. It even has a rare factory tach and gauge package. Under the hood is an era correct 350 horsepower 402 ci V8 with steel crank and forged pistons. Click here to view the walk-around video and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is $26,900.
1951 Buick Super
Here is another interesting one from Unique Classic Cars in Minnesota. They are a wholesaler of collector cars in the Midwest. They have this driver quality 1951 Buick Super that was restored with lowering kit coils. (Check out the photos of the under side.) While the body is just driver quality, the panel fitment is pretty good. It does have its share of road rash and orange peel in the finish. There is also a small ding in the wheel well area. But the chrome is all there and looks nice. This is a fresh listing and they do not have their description online yet. Call them to ask them any specifics you need on this one. But the price is really right. The mohair interior looks like it may have been redone. All the door panels look good. Use as is or make it an old school custom. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. Their asking price is only $14,900.
1973 Pontiac Grandville
You don’t see too many of these around anymore. This is a 1973 Pontiac Grandville 2-Door Hardtop just posted for sale by Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois. They say it is all stock and looks to be in really nice condition. (Take a look at the photos.) The eye-catching design and luxury creature comforts are still impressive even today. And the exhilaration of the 455 ci V8 is memorable. Cross country trips were a pleasure in these “land yahts.” They say the 455 is well maintained and is fed by a stock 4-barrel carburetor with stock air cleaner. It has the usual accoutrements such as automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, 6-way power seat, tilt steering wheel, R12 air conditioning, power windows, power door locks and full gauge instrumentation. It even has fender skirts. They say the paint and finish is gorgeous. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week. Their asking price is $16,900.
1975 Chevrolet K20 4X4
One thing everybody know is that Chevy trucks are dependable and indestructible. If they come from southern states many of them will run forever. Here is a 1975 Chevrolet K20 4X4 being offered for sale at Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota. Unique Classic Cars is a wholesaler that sells cars and trucks to classic car dealers throughout the Midwest. They do a good job of finding vehicles that will pass muster. This Chevy truck is one you should have inspected before you buy. They do not yet have a description on this one so you need an independent third party inspection to know more about it. Or call them. They will give you an honest account of the condition. There is a little surface rust on the undercarriage, but it could still be solid. Inspect it before you buy it. But hurry. It may not be available for long. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is $12,900.
1979 Chrysler Cordoba
Unique Classic Cars also listed a 1979 Chrysler Cordoba for sale this week. This popular luxury car came from the factory with removable glass T-tops. They say it still has only 49,383 miles on the odometer. They seem to think it is original miles based on the condition. With Light Cashmere paint and a partial vinyl roof, it has been reupholstered in Corinthian leather for the front bucket seats. It has whitewall tires and wheels with Cordoba hubcaps. Optional equipment includes power windows, a power seat on the driver’s side, an AM/FM radio with an 8-track player, tilt column, power antenna, and a digital clock. The AC system has been converted to R134A refrigerant but they say it may need servicing to blow cold air efficiently. It drives out nice, they say. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is a $17,900.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
