Exotic Dream Car
It is a little known fact that it was Volkswagen that brought back the revered Bugatti name to prominence in 2006. Volkswagen, in fact, reset the clock on exotic super cars when they came out with the Bugatti Veyron. That took the super car market to a whole new level. Then the successor to the Veyron, the Chiron, elevated the platform for what are now called hypercars. The Chiron came with exciting new coachwork and an aluminum alloy 8.0 liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine producing just under 1,500 horsepower.
This week, Legendary Motorcar Company posted an all-wheel-drive 2019 Bugatti Chiron Sport for sale. What an amazing exotic sports car! The Chiron Sport has so much carbon fiber equipment that it is a full 40 pounds lighter than the earlier version. It has many futuristic carbon fiber fabrications. Its dynamic handling package features computer controlled torque vectoring, with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars. The aerodynamics have been improved to the point where this car is five seconds faster on most road courses.
What you get when you own a Chiron Sport is exclusivity, comfort and the highest level of technology. There were only 60 of these Chiron Sport models produced in 2019. And you only get this trim level of colors and carbon fiber accoutrements with the Chiron Sport. Legendary Motorcar Company tells us this 2019 Bugatti Chiron Sport has only 451 actual miles and presents as new. Of course, it comes with full documentation, a car cover and trickle charger.

Classic Car News This Week
2023 Cadillac Blackwing
GM is advertising that their 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Edition will produce 668 horsepower. So Hennessey Performance, the famous aftermarket customizer in Texas, put one to the test. A dyno test to be exact. So they strapped one into their testing station. Click here to review the results in a video of the dyno test. The results were pretty close to what GM and Cadillac advertised? Well, the reason Hennessey is working with the Cadillac sedan is that they propose to create a Hennessey Blackwing that will get close to 1,000 horsepower. Grocery getter, right?
Hudson Pickup
When Cars-On-Line answered the call to inspect a 1947 Hudson Pickup in Florida, a New York buyer got the full scoop on this interesting classic pickup truck. It is a rare one. This is a hot rod truck, which the inspector noted by pointing out the dress-up under the hood, lowered stance and the Camaro subframe mods with power steering. There were also some electrical issues which would need attending to. He noted that the Vintage Air system worked well as you might expect from a classic driven in Florida. He also warned the buyer that the Flowmaster mufflers were a little loud for this use. That is a matter of personal taste. You can read the full report to discover the condition of the paint and finish, and the wood bed. Click here to read the Pre-Purchase Inspection Report on our sample reports page.
This buyer did the right thing having us do the Pre-Purchase Inspection before he bought the truck. Are you anticipating buying a collector car? We can help. Read some of our sample pre-purchase inspections at the Inspections Page today.

1969 Boss 429
Legendary Motorcar Company would seem to be having a big week. Here is another high level classic muscle car that they just posted for sale. This one is an “investment” that should be categorized as a “trophy car” for a high end collection. This is a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang built for NASCAR to beat the Mopar Hemi cars. This one is incredible. Unrestored with only 11,372 original miles, Legendary Motorcar Company calls it a “survivor” class car. It comes in the most popular color for Mustangs that year, Black Jade finish with Black Carion knit interior. What is important about this Boss 429 is that it is one of the early S Code cars with magnesium valve covers, NASCAR style forged internals. That makes it highly sought after even among the Boss 429 Mustangs. In addition, this Boss 9 is equipped with 3.91 ratio traction lok rear axle, console, power front disc brakes, AM radeo, power steering, the competition suspension, functional front air spoiler, color keyed mirrors and trunk mounted battery. This is the one you want.
’69 Charger 500 XX
A private party collector from New York has posted another desirable classic muscle car this week. This is a rare 1969 Dodge Charger 500. Mopar collectors will note that this is an XX Code Charger 500. The seller says it is a 100 percent numbers matching car that comes with the broadcast sheet and fender tag. He says it is a true Charger 500 XX Code. You can just barely make out the XX29 code on the tag when you look through the photos. It has the 440 Magnum engine rated at 375 horsepower and a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The Coke bottle red body has a white Bumble Bee stripe wrapping the rear. The 500 had the special front grille and the flush rear window for NASCAR. Mopar afficianadoes will not eht chromed quick release fuel filler cap. It comes with Magnum 500 road wheels.
DeTomaso Mangusta
Italian design and coachwork meets American muscle … that’s the story of the first offering from Italian auto manufacturer DeTomaso when it came out with the Mangusta. These cars tore up the roadways in Europe and the U.S. with Ford V8 power under the hood and Italian racing technology and design. This 1970 DeTomaso Mangusta has a 302 ci V8 engine and a ZF 5-speed manual transmission, the perfect combination for a two seater sports car experience. It is being offered today at Daniel Schmitt & Company out of St Louis. Only 401 Mangustas were ever built. They say it drives and presents wonderfully, with only 63k original miles. It comes with the owner’s manual and over 30 years of service records. If you are looking for an Italian sports car that has investment potential, this is the one.

They tell us the Lincoln has won major awards such as the AACA Senior and an award at the National Lincoln and Continental Owner’s Club meet. Project Vehicles for Restoration
1909 Model T Touring
The Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania came up with a project car to challenge the classic restorer. Here is a 1909 Ford Model T Touring car that was the top sports car of its day. Now needing a full restoration, it comes with plenty of patina. Read a full description at the link here. The early production Model T was a “barn find,” as they say. It will be a challenge, but this one is worth of a full restoration. It would be a shame to overlook the change to turn this page in automotive history.

Muscle Car Clones
1966 Mustang GT350
Diversion Motors in Wisconsin just posted a nice replica of a 1966 Shelby GT350 in true muscle car trim. It is a real Mustang Fastback which now has a 418 ci V8 engine, 5-speed transmission and disc brakes on all fours. Diversion Motors tells us this classic Mustang captures the look and feel of the early Shelby fastbacks, but at a fraction of the cost. Lowereed and seen here with 15″ Shelby wheels, it has a fiberglass hood which features a steel frame and integral scoop.

Deals of the Day
1972 Ford Ranchero
Our top deal on a muscle car this week is this 1972 Ford Ranchero with a 302 ci Ford motor upgraded to a 347. The private party seller from Georgia says it has been restored from top to bottom. What’s more, he says it has been updated with all new springs, shocks, stainless steel exhaust system, and a Holley 4-barrel carb. It has a positraction rear end and with all that power? Can you say burnouts? It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the askiing price is just $18,500. That’s a lotta’ car/truck for the money.
1959 Lincoln Continental
Here is an outstanding opportunity to own a full size 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV classic luxury car for an affordable price. The private party seller from Doylestown, Pennsylvania says it is a driver class car, not a show car. He says it is a super solid original classic car with one older repaint and a load of options. It also comes with the 430 ci V8 that was available in 1959. And, yes, it does have air conditioning the the Town and Country radio. It will be our Deal of the Day on Sunday. The asking price is $18,000.
1948 Mercury Eight
The famous Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles has a “price leader” this week. They just posted a 1948 Mercury Eight Tudor Coupe for sale out of their inventory. Finished in Light Bronze paint, it is complemented with a tan interior. They say it is a California car which is equipped with a 3-speed on the column and a V8 engine with dual exhaust. Note the condition of the chrome trim and bumpers in the photos. It has dual side mirror, pop-out quarter windows and comfortable bench seats. Have it inspected before you buy to get a better idea of the condition class. But hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their price: $19,750.
2006 Cadillac XLR
Remember when these Cadillac XLR sports cars came out in 2004? They were really popular among Hollywood celebrities and high end buyers. They were Cadillac’s version of the Corvette with creature comforts. But I bet you never thought you could own one for this price. A 2006 Cadillac XLR Convertible was just posted for sale by a private party collector from Glendale, Arizona. He says there are “no leaks and the top works perfectly.” In fact, he says it still looks and drives “as new.” It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. I think you will agree that this is a lotta’ car for the money. He is asking $29,500.
2001 BMW Z3
When BMW came out with the lower priced two-seater sports car they called the Z3, there was a lot of applause all over the world. Despite the fact that it was a little under-powered, it was a really cool looking sports car and still turns heads today. Especially this 2001 BMW Z3 just posted for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It is blacon on black with a 5-speed manual transmission. Ready for a sporty second car? This one will fill the bill. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. The asking price is $8,750.
1965 Mustang
The little first generation Mustang coupes have been coming down in price recently after reaching higher values last year. So it is not surprising to find one like this 1965 Mustang Coupe in very nice although non-original condition. Frankly the wheels make the car. This one looks sharp and straight in the photos. Take a look. It is a 6 cylinder Pony car, but in this case that is not a real factor in that it is non-original to begin with. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because it looks like a fun car to run around in. The asking price is $18,900.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
1978 GMC Caballero | $17,500 | Boston, MA |
1990 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz | $14,900 | Shaker Heights, OH |
1977 Corvette | $19,950 | Staunton, IL |
