Coming Up in July
One of the most anticipated sales of the summer will be coming up at the GAA Classic Summer Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina next month. An F8 Dark Green 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger with a white wing will cross the auction floor on Saturday, July 25th. The F8 Green Daytonas are really rare. Although no Chrysler records are available on the exact breakdown by color, the Dodge Charger Registry says there were at least eight F8 Green Daytonas produced. The auction will be held July 23-25, 2026 at The Palace in Greensboro.
Since only 503 Daytonas were produced to homologate them for NASCAR racing, they are extremely valuable in their own right. The seller says it has a matching numbers 440 ci V8 engine. The Magnum big block is factory rated at 375 horsepower. They say it has been completely restored with only 119 miles on the redo. It has the A36 performance axle package, power steering, power disc brakes, a Torqueflite automatic transmission, woodgrain steering wheel and bucket seats with center console.
This car was purchased from Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago which adds to its provenance. Before it made it to Chicago, though, this Daytona Charger would have been converted from a Charger to a Daytona Charger with the big wing by Creative Industries in Detroit. Make no mistake, this was a purpose built race car. The wing was to hold the Daytona to the ground on the high banked speedways of Daytona and Talladega. The Daytonas won two NASCAR events in 1969 and four more in 1970. It was the first to break the 200-mile-an-hour barrier. NASCAR driver Buddy Baker broke the 200-mph mark during test runs at Talladega Speedway in Alabama, March, 1970, with a top average speed of 200.447 mph. Later that year, Bobby Isaacs set a new world record 201.104 mph, as he won the Daytona 500. Daytonas swept the race, coming in first, second, third and fourth place at the Daytona International Raceway. Isaacs also won the Grand National Championship in NASCAR that year for Dodge.
Sadly, NASCAR banned the aero-cars in 1971 by restricting the engine size in a winged car. So Chrysler’s winged experiment ended almost before it got started. But that’s what makes these cars so collectible today.

Power Tour Next Week
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, hot rodders and muscle car enthusiasts from all over the country will be gathering in Joliet, Illinois for the 32nd Annual Hot Rod Power Tour 2026. It is arguably the most important automotive experience of our time. Every year, Hot Rod Magazine officials plan a cruise route through the U.S. with interesting stops along the way and big car shows every evening. There are even a few stops at drag strips where muscle cars and restomods show off a little. This year the Power Tour will start June 8 in Joliet, and travel along the historic Route 66 with the final destination in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is Hot Rod Magazine’s way of celebrating the 100-Year Anniversary of Route 66. Entrants are gathering at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet to register on Sunday. The tour will start Monday morning from the Route 66 Raceway (also in Joliet.) For more information and contacts, be sure to read the story in our Cars-On-Line Car Show Calendar here.
This Weeks Featured Stories
1966 Plymouth Hemi Satellite
Chrysler had some of the most unique color combinations during the muscle car era. But even for a Mopar, this one is really rare. Here is a 1966 Plymouth Hemi Satellite which was just listed by a private party seller from Canada. It has what he describes as an “ultra rare two-tone paint combination, Citron Gold metallic body with a Soft Yellow roof. He says over 95 percent of the Citron Gold Plymouths had either a black or white top. He says you have to see it. It is absolutely stunning in direct sunlight. He says this car has undergone a meticulour, correct rotisserie restoration. The 426 Hemi engine is original to the car and it has a 4-speed with Dana 60 rear end. It has been documented by Mopar historian Galen Govier. He says it is not only a beautiful car, but it has nice road manners for a Hemi car.
Merc Lead Sled
Twenty years ago it was common to see Mercury Lead Sleds for sale. Not so much anymore. Building them may be a lost art. But a Wisconsin custom builder took the time to masterfully create a custom 1951 Mercury Lead Sled known on the show circuit as “The Bean.” It took five years to build this masterpiece of auto culture. Nearly every panel was modified. Then it was drenched in Camaro Synergy Green paint. Custom flames were added along with hand painted pinstriping. There are now 4,500 miles on it since the build. They say it has won its share of awards. Power comes from a bored out and fuel injected Corvette engine. The roof was chopped 4.5 inches, and the windshield was laid back three inches. It has a narrowed 1951 Mercury front bumper, Rambler bumper guards, a custom Corvette grille and a louvered panel hiding LED directional lights. 1975 Ford LTD tail lights were frenched into the rear quarter panels. It has been shaved with remote door poppers. Click here for a video inspection.
Cadillac “Cadamino”
Another unusual car will be offered at the upcoming GAA Classic Summer Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina next month. They just posted this custom Cadillac in our truck section this week. They call it a 1976 Cadamino, a name that refers to its conversion from a Cadillac sedan to an El Camino style utility truck. It is a Cadillac with a pickup bed. The conversion was done at Custom Coach, Inc in Lima, Ohio in 1976. It was also restored in 2012 as the body was stripped to bare metal and repainted. They say it still has only 26k actual miles. The white leather interior still looks pristine in the photos. You can tell from the undercarriage photos that the car gets driven, but it is still very clean. It has a power bench seat, power windows and climate control. What do you think it will sell for at auction next month?

1969 Chevelle Big Block
Although not numbers matching, you have to see the paint on this 1969 Chevelle Big Block car. Hanksters Hot Rods in Daytona Beach has this one for sale this week and they did a pretty thorough inspection video to show off the impressive paint job and clean interior. It does have a big block 396 under the hood and all the SS emblems and stylings. The price is based on the quality of the restoration. You can’t restore one like this at this price. It has the 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. You will see the 17” American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. Updates include the Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake plus an Edelbrock 600 cfm 4-barrel carburetor. The video includes a look at the undercarriage and a test drive.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
1978 Corvette Pace Car
Oh, man, this 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car still has only 57 actual miles. That’s amazing. It was the first year that a Corvette ever paced the Indianapolis 500 Race. So, it is not too unusual that someone bought one of these dealer edition Pace Cars and tucked it away for its collector value. But whatever the reason, this presents an incredible opportunity for a collector to acquire an “almost new” Pace Car over 48 years after the ’78 race. It is being offered for sale this week at Streetside Classics from their Charlotte, North Carolina location. Cars that were “Born to be Collectible” don’t come along that often. Just look at that interior. Streetside Charlotte has 78 photos of this car ready to view on their ad page at the link. Then click to watch a walk-around video and hear it run.
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:

Project Vehicles for Restoration
1968 Super Stock BO29 Cuda
A long-time Mopar collector from York, Pennslvania is now offering his prized 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Super Stock BO29 car for sale. The B029 Hemi Cuda is one of only 70 produced that year race prepped by Hurst Campbell in Detroit. The car was raced by Russ Funk, Dedmon & McCormick and Dale Barker. It is in the project car stage with all the metal work redone and is now in primer. Mike Mancini’s American Muscle Car Restorations took out the cage and “un-tubbed” it. The seller wanted to restore it to its original race livery when the first owner, Russ Funk, raced it. It will still need a motor and transmission. This is a real interesting opportuity for the right Mopar collector. This kind of opportunity does not come along everyday.

1960 Ford Starliner
A Canadian collector had listed his 1960 Ford Starliner 2-Door Hardtop for sale. He says it has had a “complete high end rebuild,” including the 410 ci V8 engine with a Tripower, C6 automatic transmission and more. The color is Moroccan Ivory. While it features a custom interior, the under carriage has been preserved with a frame-off powder coating. The stainless is nice, he says. This is the quintessential 2-door hardtop for this era. With the Tripower and big engine, this Ford was a muscle car before its time. His asking price was $48,000 in US currency when he first listed the car. But just this week he dropped the price to $40,000. (FYI – you can request a pre-purchase inspection and get a full report on this car. The Cars-On-Line network includes Canada.)

Deals of the Day
1972 Mercury Cougar XR-7
How rare is a 1972 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible? Well, the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania tells us there were only 2,000 ever produced that year. It was Mercury’s idea to appeal to the younger Baby Boomers by making a car that was a performance sports car, but handled like a luxury car. This one is so affordably priced that we had to show it to you here. The Classic Auto Mall says the 351 Cleveland runs out like it should, although they noted that the clock and reverse lights were not working. It has been updated with an Edelbrock intake manifold and Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. An FMX 3-speed automatic transmission puts power to the 9” rear end with 2.75 gears. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is only $19,500.
1955 Ford Thunderbird
The impact of the first-year 1955 Ford Thunderbird on the automotive industry is sometimes confused. This was a first luxury sports car with a refined driving experience. Performance was built in with the small block V8 engine, but the T-Bird was so much more. Here is a red T-Bird that has been in the same family for 48 years. Offered for sale for the first time, this car is being sold through Garage Kept Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The removable red hard top adds versatility and completes the car’s unmistakable silhouette. Click here to view a walk-around video and hear it run. Power comes from a dependable 292 ci V8 engine. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. Their asking price is only $25,900.
1954 Buick Century
A metallic green 1954 Buick Century Sedan was just posted for sale. The driver quality car is being offered for sale at Unique Classic Cars in Minnesota. The note it still has a nice shine having been in the same family for over 20 years and well cared for. It features a 322 ci V8 engine with a smooth Dynaflow automatic transmission. The portholes and grille are iconic for the era. They say it has newer brakes and a dashboard and interior are remarkably well maintained. The original Sonomatic AM radio and other electrical features like wipers, horn, and blower motor are functional. Watch the video inspection here to find out more about the condition. They consider it a driver quality car with some surface scratches and cracks in glass. You might say it is priced accordingly. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $14,900.
1952 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery
They consider it a restomod which means it has undergone a custom restoration preserving the vintage look while improving on the performance and enjoyment of the ride. This is a 1952 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery which they say has come from California. It is being offered for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It has vintage looks and style while equipped with a V8 engine with a 4-barrel and automatic transmission. Under the hood, the heavy-duty radiator with dual electric fans and Edelbrock valve covers add both practicality and visual appeal. Exterior details such as the split windshield, chrome trim, chrome bumpers, and dummy spotlights further capture the styling trends that defined the early 1950s. Inside it has been updated with Stewart-Warner gauges, a JVC radio and a two-spoke steering wheel. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. Their asking price is $26,500.
1966 Daimler V8 250
Here is one you don’t see very often. A private party seller out of Nova Scotia, Canada has this 1966 Daimler V8 250 for sale. He said he bought it from a previous owner, a doctor, who bought it from a museum. Great story which adds to its provenance. The luxury sport saloon was a car designed with the British executive class in mind. It was slightly more exclusive than the Jaguar Mark II. It is complemented by its British leather and wood trimmed interior. Of course, it is a British right-hand-drive vehicle. The original 2.5 liter V8 was designed by Edward Turner. A little over 13,000 were built from 1962 until 1967. So they are more rare than a Jaguar of the same era. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. The asking price is only $18,000.
1969 VW Kelmark GT
Another unusual listing came in a few days ago. Do you remember when these Kelmark kit cars were produced? This 1969 VW Kelmark GT is being offered for sale by a private party seller from Virginia. The Kelmark GT was a rare 1970s American kit car that offered exotic looks and performance. Although many were mid-engine designed with V8 engines, this one has a VW 1776 cc 4-cylinder engine in the rear. You will find that there was much variation in the builds on these home-built kits. It has a single Weber 2-barrel carburetor and a 4-speed manual transmission. He says the under carriage is very clean. However, this may be more of a project than a turnkey ready car. He says it is drivable but it starts rough. A muriad of problems need to be worked out including, The driving and signal lights do not work, the right headlight doesn’t illuminate, the horn does not sound and the temperature gauge is non functional. But it is a significant find for the right buyer, It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $15,000.
2003 BMW Z4 Convertible
If you are interested in a refined sports car ride, here is the ultimate find: a 2003 BMW Z4 Convertible at a very nice price point. It is being offered for sale by Sovereign Auto Group, a Michigan wholesaler that takes in specialty cars from time to time and sells them at blowout prices. Offered here in Sterling Gray metallic paint, they say it has just 67,925 miles. It came from the factory with both the Premium and Sport packages. It has the power convertible roof with heated glass rear window. Rated at 225 horsepower, it has the 5-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with adaptive shift control. Click here to watch a walk-around video and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $13,000.
