Piccadilly Roadster
In around 1925 Rolls-Royce made a decision to replace the vaunted Silver Ghost model with the Phantom I, often referred to as the “New Phantom.” And, if you remember, Rolls-Royce cars were built here in the U.S. for the North American market at their plant in Springfield, Massachusetts. So, from 1926 through 1931, the Springfield plant built about 1,240 Rolls-Royce chassis which were called Springfield Phantom I cars. At that time Brewster & Company was the elite coachbuilder for Rolls-Royce buyers in the U.S. They would build the bodies for the Rolls-Royce chassis and create the custom coachbuilt look that their clients ordered. One of those body styles was called the Piccadilly Roadster, a reference to Piccadilly Circus, the fashinable area of London. Only about 120 Piccadilly Roadsters were ever built, with only about 30 to 35 of them known to exist today.
That is the background history for this amazing find that was listed by Gullwing Motor Cars out of their New York shop this week. They posted an ad for a 1928 Rolls-Royce Springfield Phantom I Piccadilly Roadster. They are highly regarded among knowledgeable collectors today because of their elegant styling and two-seater sporty design. Nicely restored and well documented examples have sold for $500,000 to $1 million at auctions. Brewster built examples with matching chassis, engine and body numbers are extraordinary to find.
This 1928 Rolls-Royce at Gullwing represents the height of Rolls-Royce production here in America before the Springfield plant closed in 1931. This one is a California car, and they say it is an excellent driver just out of long-term ownership. It is blue with a red interior and rumble seat. Gullwing just acquired it from an estate. They say the paint is “presentable,” while the leather interior and woodwork is judged as “good” as all instruments and lights work. The top shows its age a bit but remains very usable. Be sure to view the photos at the link above.
They say this antique roadster is ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next lucky caretaker. You could scour the earth and not find another for this price.

Car Show Calendar
If you check the Cars-On-Line Car Show Calendar this month you will find that one of the most famous car shows in the world will be held at the end of February. That’s right, the Detroit Autorama is coming up February 27-March 1, 2026 in the Motor City. This has long been one of our favorite car show events because the Detroit Autorama is home to the prestigious Ridler Award, the most coveted award in the custom car world. On Friday morning they will announce the Great 8 finalists for the Ridler Award at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit. Then on Sunday night they will announce the Ridler Award winner from the show. This is one of the shows you should have on your bucket list. That same weekend, the ModoMiami event sponosred by RM Sotheby’s is happening in Miami, Florida. The event is put on for the ultra-wealthy class with displays of exotic supercars, high-end collector cars, luxury living, yacht tours, and other iconic curated experiences.

Watch Out For This Scam
This week a new and particularly convincing scam popped up on one of our laptop computers here in the Cars-On-Line office. It was one of those very alarming “fake alerts” that claims your computer is infected with a “Trojan” (very powerful virus.) It may state that your computer data is being stolen or that your computer is locked up. Then it prompts you to call a phone number to get a “Microsoft tech” to help you get rid of the virus. The first thing we want our readers to know is that this popup did not come from Microsoft, and furthermore that Microsoft will never prompt you to call them to clean a virus. The way the scam works is that when you call the fake Microsoft phone number you get a fake “support person” on the phone who instructs you to download an app so that they can take over your computer remotely. And they will. But then you are in their clutches. They may want you to pay them to “get rid of” a virus that you don’t really have in the first place. The alert is a fake alert even though it may mimic the look of a Microsoft page and use the Microsoft official logo. The “tell” on this scam is that Microsoft will never ask you to call them. In some cases this scam is just to get your money for “cleaning your computer of a virus” when you don’t really have a virus. The person you are talking to is posing as a Microsoft tech person, and he or she may even be placing malicious malware on your computer under the guise of helping you. We have also heard that these scammers may lock up you computer to ransom your data.
If your screen seems to be locked up when you get the popup, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard to close the internet browser. Then you might want to clear your browser cache and history. Then you want to run a legitimate antivirus scan. Stay safe out there.

1939 Packard Super Eight
You may remember this 1939 Packard Super Eight Convertible from when it was displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours or at the Meadowbrook 100th Anniversary Concours. It is a full CCCA Classic eligible for all events. It is being offered for sale this week at Carolina Muscle Cars in Benson, North Carolina. The Packard has many features that were notable in that era, i.e. 320 ci Straight 8 engine, independent front suspension, a column gear shift (new for ’39), overdrive transmission, hydraulic brakes, original AM radio, heater, side mounted spare tires, a luggage rack, leather bound custom carpets, wide whitewall tires and Packard driving lights. They tell us the Super Eight convertible is well sorted out, runs and drives very well and shifts into all gears with ease. They say all the lights and gauges appear to be working as well. There were only 446 convertible coupes produced.
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge
A Carousel Red 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge was listed this week. GTO’s are so popular among muscle car collectors, and the GTO Judge is the top of the food chain as far as GTO’s go. They are becoming harder-and-harder to locate in today’s market as their popularity continues to grow. This one is being offered for sale this week at Streetside Classics out of their Atlanta area location. Under the hood is a 400 Ram Air II V8 which they tell us is numbers matching and rebuilt for robust performance. The engine bay is original. Inside you will find an interior that was entirely gone through and redone in 2016. Note the Hurst shifter with T-handle. You can see from the photos that the trunk is immaculate. Streetside Classics tells us that this Judge was “restored to premium standards.” There are only 149 miles on the car since the restoration was completed.
Foose Built ’56 Chevy
Foose Design in Huntington Beach, California is the shop where the legendary Chip Foose works his magic on custom cars for his many high-end clients. The owners of this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Post had Foose Design restore their family treasure to show and drive. The work included installing an LS3 fuel injected 440 horsepower engine, twelve bolt rearend, new radiator, new 21-gallon fuel tank, Wilwood disc brakes, Magnaflow dual exhaust and Vintage air conditioning. It also got a full leather interior, new carpeting and headliner. They did a video of the reveal when the owners came to see their ’56 when the work was done. Click here to see how they reacted. This car is now for sale at Laguna Classic Cars in Laguna Beach. They say it is still in pristine condition.
Auctions

We are just a week away from the big GAA Classic Winter Auction coming up February 19-21, 2026 in Greensboro, NC. Several important collections of highly desirable collector cars will be offered for sale for the first time at the GAA Classic this year. All will be offered at No Reserve. That’s amazing! Dedicated to their following of classic car, muscle car and unique specialty vehicle buyers, the GAA Classic is well respected in the collector car community as a source of rare collector cars and trucks. Many of the top classic car dealers will be watching this sale to refresh their inventories. They expect over 750 vehicles to be sold during the three-day sale. Their selection of classic and muscle cars is especially interesting this year. Here are some you will be interested in, all at No Reserve.
1967 Shelby GT500
Would you believe a 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback is going through the GAA Classic Winter Auction at No Reserve next week? You heard it here first! The rare and desirable Shelby Mustang will be crossing the auction block on Saturday, February 21. It is one of the cars from the noted Chris Agee Collection. It has the 428 CJ engine with dual quad carbs and a 4-speed. The auction information say it has been restored. You can tell by the photos that it has a very clean undercarriage with factory style inspection markings visible. The copy says it still has the original wheels and date coded body panels. This is how you buy a top level muscle car like this Shelby. Call ahead and have it inspected. They say the interior remains original, so this car was well cared for all its life. What do you think it will sell for? You can click here to get info about becoming a bidder. Bids can be taken online or over the phone.
1969 Camaro Z/28 RS
A collection known as the Cousin’s Corral will be sold here in Greensboro next week. This rare and desirable 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS is one of the cars from the collection, and it will be going through the auction on Friday at No Reserve. The Z/28 RS Camaro is such an iconic looking classic that it draws attention everywhere. But this one is especially desirable because the color is Hugger Orange, probably the most popular color in ’69. They tell us it is a real X33 code and comes with the DZ302 engine and a 4-speed. It is equipped with the JL8 four-wheel disc brake option and posi traction. Inside you will find the popular Houndstooth interior with bucket seats and a console. It has a 12-bolt rear end and chambered exhaust. You couldn’t order one any better than this. This is the first time we’ve seen a Z/28 RS selling at No Reserve. This is the one to watch.
1958 Corvette Convertible
A dual quad 1958 Corvette Convertible is also being offered at No Reserve in the upcoming GAA Classic Winter Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina next week. It is the beneficiary of a frame-off restoration and does it ever look good in the ad photos (click the link to view.) Just look at that undercarriage shot. Man, is this car clean underneath. Not much difference here between this one and a trailer queen. Corvette collectors really prize these ‘58s because they had one-year only characteristics that make them stand out. The washboard hood, extra spears, bezels, and gaudy chrome made it stand out. It was the trendiest attention getter of its time. And it performed better than most of its competition. This one will go through the auction on Friday, February 20.

1937 Ford Woody Wagon
West Port Auto Center in Fenton, Missouri just got in a 1937 Ford Model 78 Deluxe Woody Wagon. They did a full inspection video, and wait till you see the condition of the wood on this classic station wagon. (Click the video window above to view.) You will h, as ear the 221 ci Flathead engine in the video. This one was kept original just the way it was when it was a delivery vehicle for Cranetown Island in Indian Lake, Ohio. It came from a collection where it has been cared for during the past 40 years. It is one of those cars where the wood body was produced at Ford’s Iron Mountain, Michigan plant. This one has sliding side windows and a clam-sheel tailgate. The wood “headliner” is amazing.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
1983 Buick Park Avenue
The 1983 Buick Park Avenue is a “land yacht” full of creature comforts notable for its era. The interior might be more comfortable than your living room couch. The faux wood accoutrements and electronic options were a status symbol of its time. But this particular Park Avenue is a time capsule because it still has just 881 actual miles from new. No, that’s not a typo. It is being offered for sale by Unique Classic Cars out of Mankato, Minnesota. The low miles on this 2-door sedan make it the perfect “future collectible” preserved in untouched elegance.
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:
2003 Mustang Mach 1, Unique Classic Cars, MN, 8,733 actual miles
1990 Ford Thunderbird SC, Streetside Phoenix, 14,589 believed actual

1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster
Having not been driven for a while now, this 1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster awaits a straight forward restoration. It is being offered for sale in its current state by Gullwing Motor Cars out of their New York facility. It is the desirable Series II 4.2 Liter version, and they say it is highly original. You see it here in the ad photos in British Racing Green paint with a tan leather interior. The problem is that it is not currently running. For the right buyer there is a lot of potential here. The interior looks pretty clean with tan Connolly leather. You can have it inspected before you buy. It is being offered at less than half its potential value.

Muscle Car Clones
1971 Chevelle SS 454 Tribute
Every week we get a lot of muscle car tributes listed for sale. These are replicas or recreations of very popular muscle cars that have become too pricey to afford for most of us “would-be” collectors. So enterprising restorers will redo a car with trim and power plants to resemble the real deal. One such car listed this week is this 1971 Chevelle 2-Door Hardtop which is all decked out as an SS 454 Chevelle. It is now available for sale at Streetside Classics out of their Nashville area store. It is fully repainted in black with the pinned cowl-induction hood and SS emblems. The SS-style black interior includes a center console and bucket seats. In the clean engine bay sits a big 454 ci V8 with a single four-barrel carburetor. You better believe that 454 makes a sweet sound.
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:
1970 Chevelle, Hanksters, FL, SS styling

Deals of the Day
1966 Mustang Convertible
When they listed this 1966 Mustang Convertible for sale a couple days ago it was already at a pretty affordable price. It is being offered for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. But just today we noticed that lowered the price even more to make it their Sale Special this week. It is offered at way below the average price on an early Mustang convertible. Finished in Raven Black, it is complemented by a black vinyl interior. This one is a 200 ci inline six cylinder Mustang with an automatic transmission. The convertible top is also black, and it comes with a parade boot. Note the 15-inch 8-spoke alloy wheels which look better than the originals. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday, The asking price is $26,500.
1980 Shay Model A Roadster
Ford Model A recreations were elevated to a new level when a guy named Harry Shay created a small enterprise to produce them on a manufacturing scale. His Model a recreations were so authentic that Ford Motor Company distributed them to its dealers to sell out of actual Ford showrooms. Here is an excellent example of the 1980 Shay Model A Deluxe Roadster as offered for sale at the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania. They say you would have a hard time recognizing it from the real thing. Every time we get one of these Shay replicas listed they sell fast because there were not that many made. The secret to their popularity lies behind the hood flap. It has a 2.3 liter SOHC four cylinder motor rated at 88 horsepower. It is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. And it has a Mustang II front end with leaf springs so it rides more like a modern era car. This one is said to be of driver quality. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. Their asking price is only $16,900.
2001 Aston Martin DB7
I guess there is a first time for everything. This is the first time we have ever had a late model Aston Martin DB7 in our DEAL of the DAY feature. This week Beverly Hills Car Club listed a 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante in our Exotic Car Section online. Elegant and powerful, the Solent Silver Aston Martin convertible ranks among the top British cars of all time. This one has only 48,387 miles on the odometer. It has a Light Gray interior accented by wood veneer trim. What’s more it is a California car. The V-12 Volante comes with power windows, mirrors and seats, plus air conditioning. The sellers say that it needs a new top. The 5.9-liter V-12 mates up to a Touchtronic automatic transmission, and it has 19-inch HRE Performance Multi-Piece wheels lending a sporty stance. You know right away why this hand-built British car gets so much attention. You may have it inspected before you buy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $19,950.
1970 Opel GT
Remember when the Opel GT first came out? They were called “Baby Corvettes.” Its most iconic feature was the hidden headlights. They would rotate horizontally instead of vertically as on a Corvette. They were built on a modified Opel Kadett platform which meant it was a reliable driver. The 1.9 ci H inline 4 cylinder engine was used here in the U.S. This 1970 Opel GT has a 4-speed manual transmission on the console. The private party seller from Texas tells us it was painstakingly restored by its past two owners. The body and mechanics were attended to first. Then the current owner added bumpers, lights, seat skins, carpet and drivetrain parts. He says everything works, including the heater, radio, instruments and switches. A detailed history and car cover come with the sale. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. The price is $18,000.
1967 Triumph TR4A IR S
A red 1967 Triumph TR4A IR S Roadster was just listed by Gullwing Motor Car Company out of New York. It is the very desirable independent rear suspension model which Triumph produced in order to make the sporty ride more comfortable. The IR S model had a new semi-trailing arm with coil springs and lever-arm shocks. The chassis had to be redesigned in order to make this work. So this model is wider and a little heavier than the TR4. It has a different grill and distinctive chrome strip along the side. The TR4A is a fun car to drive, and represents a greater value than earlier versions. Gullwing says this one is a presentble driver quality car at a very affordable price point. You may have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week (if it lasts that long.) The asking price is only $10,750.
1961 Cadillac Sedan DeVille
The early 1960’s Cadillacs with their aeronautic looking rear wings are iconic memories for a Baby Boom generation which lived during that era. Here is an Aspen White 1961 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with a Hibiscus floral print fabric interior and gray vinyl inserts. See the photos at the link. It is being offered for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. They say it needs cosmetic restoration, but drives well and is mechanically sound. The rocker panels and undercarriage show rust. You should have a pre-purchase inspection done by an independent inspector before you buy. The big V8 engine is said to provide adequate power to the automatic transmission, delivering smooth, relaxed cruising. Interior equipment includes power windows, push-button radio, driver side mirror, and a lot of interior room. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $16,750.
1959 MGA 1500 Coupe
Having spent the last 20 years in female ownership and only venturing out to go to car shows and ice cream runs, this British sports car is said to handle well, tracks straight and is fun to drive. It is being offered for sale by the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania. They note that on a test drive the tachometer, heater blower, radio and horn were not working. The Dover Gray 1959 MGA 1500 Coupe looks good from the exterior view. Inside you might see a little wear, but it is clean and has red grain vinyl upholstery. Polished metal trim adds to its elegance with light rings, a windblown grille, and bumpers that flank 15-inch chrome wire wheels with knock offs and 80 series tires. It features a wood dashboard with chrome rimmed, black faced gauges with a touch of patina, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio in front of the passenger. The wood knobbed shifter is floor mounted. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $19,000.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
