Born To Race
At the height of the “muscle car wars” Chrysler dropped the “A bomb” on the racing scene. Even today, an A-body Mopar is still considered to be the world’s fastest muscle car … aka the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda 426 Hemi Super Stock by Hurst Performance. To compete with the Yenko Camaros and the Shelby Mustangs, Chrysler Corporation put their biggest engine in their smallest cars, the A-body Plymouth Barracuda and the Dodge Dart. The result was a fiberglass front Super Stock lightweight racer that could do the quarter-mile in 10’s off the showroom floor (with a little tuning.) They resurrected the Cross Ram manifold and added it to the mix to produce the fastest cars in the world. The Plymouth Hemi Barracudas were coded B029 while the Dodge Hemi Darts were coded L023. Only 70 B029 Barracudas were produced by Hurst Performance and only 80 Dodge Dart L023’s.
A great example of the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda 426 Hemi Super Stock was just listed for sale by Carroll Street Auto in Manchester, New Hampshire. They had originally sold this car back in 2017, but recently had a chance to buy it back again. It comes with extensive documentation including racing photos and the history of its seven owners. Over $100,000 was spent on a three-year restoration at Hodges Restorations in Inman, South Carolina. Since the restoration this car has been driven less than one mile, they tell us.
The 426 Hemi has the requisite dual quad carburetors mounted on a cross ram intake. Called a “race hemi,” the engine was built by Hensley Performance in Knoxville, Tennessee. They say it has been dyno’d at 732 horsepower. It requires racing fuel. The Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission was built by Richard Allison of A&A Transmission. It has a 3500 stall convertor and trans-brake. The rear end is a Dana 60 Sure-Grip with 4.10 gear.
This Barracuda is a rocket. Its performance is what you would expect of a real B029 car with a comprehensive restoration.

GAA Auction Listings
There are fresh new listings coming in every week for the upcoming GAA Classic Auction next month, February 19-21, 2026. One we haven’t talked about yet is the 2006 Ford GT Heritage edition super car which will cross the auction block in Prime Time on Saturday as Lot # 79.1. They say it comes with all four factory options for the limited edition Ford GT, i.e. a McIntosh AM/FM with CD player, Lightweight Forged Aluminum wheels, grey painted brake calipers and the Blue/Orange Livery package. It also has the MCO, stainless steel dual exhaust, Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, ebony leather trimmed interior and the full aerodynamic package. They tell us it has just 155 actual miles from new. You can view volumes of documentation in the ad photos. Since the Ford GT’s are so desirable among car collectors these days, it is likely to be one of the highest priced cars to sell in Greensboro next month. What do you think it will sell for?

This Weeks Featured Stories
1940 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible
You’ve seen custom show car examples of the Lincoln Zephyr go for six figure prices at the Barrett-Jackson Auction over the years. The outlandish Art Deco styling on the Zephyr becomes the perfect base for a high-end custom build, and custom car builders have a fascination with these vintage Zephyrs. It is of interest that a 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible was just listed for sale by Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota. It is an untouched canvas waiting for the right auto body craftsman to work his magic. Only 700 Zephyr convertibles were produced by Lincoln. Experts estimate that only a couple dozen are still on the road today. Although this car is in obvious need of restoration, it is a highly desirable car to start with. Note the V12 engine in the photos.
Boss 351 Mustang
A Boss 351 Mustang is super rare and desirable among Ford collectors today. They were produced for only one year in 1971. So, with only 1,806 ever produced, these Mustangs were collectible from day one. This week, RK Motors in Charlotte, North Carolina listed a rare white 1971 Boss 351 Mustang that has been restored to a level that would be hard to match. The white paint is a sharp contrast to the blacked out NACA ducted hood with Ram Air. It has correct 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels. Inside you’ll find a correct Black Clarion knit fabric over Corinthian vinyl just like it would have come from the factory. Well restored and very accurate in its restored state, this Boss Mustang has a 351 V8 mated to a Toploader 4-speed. They say the car maintains a classic Boss attitude.
1964 Chevy Impala Lowrider
Seen here in its timeless West Coast styling, a 1964 Chevy Impala SS Lowrider was listed for sale by Classic Car Deals, a Michigan broker. Our readers might be interested to know that the Lowrider Section is currently the most popular section on the Cars-On-Line.com website. This is a classic lowrider built “old school” with pumps and switches. The pink candy paint and chromed out engine compartment are iconic. From the photos we can conclude that the hydraulics work well. You can have it inspected before you buy to find out. This is an opportunity to own a classic square bodied lowrider with the paint, the stance and the hydraulics to be truly “low and slow” in the traditional way. Classic Car Deals tells us this is a true Super Sport Impala from Arizona.

1970 Camaro Z28
American muscle is on display at Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota this week as they just posted this Tuxedo Black 1970 Camaro Z28. Let’s inspect this rare find. Click the video window above to watch a walk-around video and presentation by Jeremy. Under the hood is a fuel injected 383 stroker motor paired with the original numbers-matching 4-speed manual transmission. Their service tech tells you that it has new rear brake shoes, new battery installation, and new front discs. Although they point out some imperfections, the car really shows well in the video. Wait till you hear it fire up. The power steering and power brakes are aftermarket installed. Then buckle up because at the end of the video they take you for a test drive.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
Low Miles Future Collectible
How does this happen? A 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra collector sports car has been listed for sale in our Mustangs Section this week. It is being offered out of the inventory at Streetside Classics at their Charlotte store. They tell us it still has just 38 actual miles from new. That is amazing! As we see the torch pass from the Baby Boom generation to Gen Y, we know that these 1990’s sports cars relate better to a younger generation that grew up with them. Here is the quintessential Gen-Y collector car of choice. And with such low miles it is ripe for acquisition. Streetside Charlotte is absolutely aware of the trends as noted by the price.
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:
1993 Mazda RX-7, RK Motors Charlotte, NC, 5,903 original miles
1984 Oldsmobile 98 Regency, Primo Classic Cars, FL, 5,818 miles

Project Vehicles for Restoration
1941 Lincoln Zephyr
As already related in the restoration story above, the pre-war Lincoln Zephyr automobiles are rare and in high demand by restoration specialists these days. Classic Car Deals, an internet broker out of Michigan, has this 1941 Lincoln Zephyr Sedan for sale this week. The price is right for a project car of this pedigree. It has the V12 engine which they say can be started and they think it can run. However the car will need restoration to be road worthy. The 292 ci V12 produced 120 horsepower from the factory. It is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, of course. These cars were designed for smooth, powerful cruising, so they can provide a luxurious ride when totally restored. The possibilities are unlimited with this one.
The following are just some of the cars available in the Project Car Section this week:
1952 Mercedes-Benz 300B, Beverly Hills Car Club, CA

1969 Camaro SS
A Pennsylvania collector just dropped the price on his Daytona Yellow 1969 Camaro SS classic muscle car. The car has had much of the updating done. There is a long list of new parts and updates in the ad description at the link. He considers it to be driver quality now, but says there are a few things that it needs, including door alignment and new door panels. He says it has a clear PA title with actual mileage noted at 46,000. Furthermore, he states that it is a real X11 Camaro with the RS package. He was asking $60,000 for the desirable Camaro. But just yesterday he dropped the price to $55,000.
Here are more vehicles with price cuts this week:

Muscle Car Clones
Yenko Deuce Nova
Don Yenko took rare COPO Novas and converted them into what are today referred to as Yenko Deuce Novas back in 1969 and 1970. The “deuce” term is a reference to the Chevy II name for Novas. The legendary racer would transplant either a 427 ci engine or an LT1 350 power plant in the COPO Novas and then convert them to his livery at Yenko Chevrolet in Pennsylvania. Yenko himself said his 427 Super Novas were “lethal.” Classic and Collectible Cars of Las Vegas just listed a highly authentic 1972 Yenko Deuce Nova Tribute for sale. It has a 350 V8 with an M21 4-speed, and they say it runs and drives “beautifully.” They will send you up to 140 photos and a video inspection upon request.
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:
1965 Mustang GT350H, Vanguard Motor Sales, MI, Hertz Shelby Tribute
1973 Plymouth, Streetside Nashville, TN, Road Runner Tribute
1967 Camaro, Drive The Coast, SS badging
1969 Chevelle, Streetside Atlanta, GA, SS 396 Tribute
1965 Chevy Impala, WeBe Autos, NY, SS 502 Tribute
1966 Chevelle, Streetside Phoenix, AZ, SS Tribute

Deals of the Day
1974 Corvette Coupe
You know that classic Corvettes are the Gold Standard of the collector car hobby. Nothing keeps its value better. So here is a 1974 Corvette Coupe which was just listed by Classic Auto Showplace in Troy, Michigan. It is an L82 coupe with matching numbers and factory air conditioning. And the price is affordable compared to other Corvettes of its vintage. The Corvette with automatic transmission is said to have just 81,192 original miles. It also comes with power windows and tilt steering. They are describing it as a “well-sorted driver” that you can take to local shows or cruises. Red with a black interior, they say it is an honest driver which remains as it came from the factory. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is $19,975.
1936 Auburn Boattail
Only a handful of Lindberg Engineering replicas of the 1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster are known to still exist. They were designed to replicate the legendary speedster on a 1/25 scale. It is being offered for sale this week by Classic Car Deals, an internet broker. The car is located in California where Lindberg Engineering was from. One of the reasons they are so rare is that the kit they are made from was extremely hard to build. This rare example features the iconic boattail design in a smaller and more lightweight format. Thus it is easier to drive and maintain. The power is from a rear-mounted Volkswagen engine. They say it has a new transmission. They describe it as being fully functional with everything working an street legal. You should have it inspected to find out more about the condition class. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. Their asking price is only $11,995.
1959 Ford Galaxie
Classic Car Deals is also advertising an affordably price classic Ford this week. They just listed this 1959 Ford Galaxie 4-Door Sedan for sale. Powered by a V8 engine and a Ford automatic transmission, it is an impressive full size cruiser. They tell us it is equipped with dual exhaust and glasspacks, giving it a period correct sound with character. And they say it runs well, although it needs a tuneup at this point. That dials in the value. Not only can you cruise in style, but with the 4-door layout you can bring friends. Be sure to look through the photos. You will note some wear and tear in the interior. Remember that you can have a pre-purchase inspection done to determine the condition class of this car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday next week. Their asking price is $23,995.
1973 Ford Grand Torino
With an aggressive look and stance, here is a 1973 Ford Grand Torino with red metallic paint and a medium tan interior. Oh, yes, it has a muscle car stance and “Day-Two” rake. It is an unusual blend of performance and classic comfort. It is being offered for sale this week at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It is featured here because the price is very affordable compared to other muscle cars of this era. It comes with a 351 ci V8 engine, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, power steering, front disc brakes, hrome bumpers, quad headlights and 15-inch American Racing wheels. Torinos were featured as NASCAR race cars during this era. The stance on this one is enhanced by P275/60R15’s in the rear end P215/60R15’s up front. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. The asking price is only $16,750.
1988 Buick Reatta
A rare white 1988 Buick Reatta Convertible was listed for sale this week. It is being offered by Rare Rides, a collector car dealer in Atlanta. They describe it as a well-preserved, low mileage survivor. These little sports cars were Buick’s attempt at making a two-seater American sports car with high tech capabilities. This was the first year they were produced. It has the legendary GM 3800 V6 engine just like the ones used for the Grand Nationals in NASCAR. With excellent condition throughout, it came loaded. It even had an innovative touchscreen technology ahead of its time. They note that it only has 50,000 miles, and, since it is considered a “future collectible” it might make a very smart investment. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. They are asking $16,995.
2008 Saturn Sky
The Sovereign Auto Group is a wholesaler in Michigan, and they get in some of the best deals in the Midwest. When they take something in on trade, they usually list it here. This 2008 Saturn Sky Convertible is said to have just 32,000 miles and is very affordably priced. The color is Chili Pepper Red with a blak leather interior and black convertible roof. The Saturn engine is a GM 2.4 liter DOHC producing 177 horsepower, more than enough for this lightweight sports car convertible. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, Bilstein mono-tube shocks, a premium trim package and air conditioning. The usual options like cruise control, power windows and locks, Kenwood touchscreen with Bluetooth and keyless entry are also present. While you may see them for sale, a Saturn in this kind of condition is truly rare. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $13,000.
1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
In its day there was nothing so classy as a Ford Thunderbird convertible. This week the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania just listed a real head turner. This is a 1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible that is priced below $20,000. When does that happen? They say it shows 38,288 miles on the odometer but there is no documentation to back that up because it was exempted on the title. The rare color is called Medium Sage Gold, and contrasts nicely with the black top. Note the 15-inch chrome wire wheels. Wow! You should have it inspected to find out where the paint imperfections are. They note paint chips and dings in the detailed description. Under the hood is a 390 ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor. The transmision is a Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late in the week. Their asking price is $19,000.

Sold Thru Cars On Line
Here are some of the comments from happy sellers who were nice enough to tell us about their experience advertising on the Cars On Line website.
Our readers know we really like it when our advertisers tell us about their success stories. This week a Corvette guy from St George, Utah told us about his 2014 Corvette Convertible which just sold. He had reduced his price on a very interesting late model Corvette convertible collector edition. It was a rare Lime Rock Green exterior car, one of only 550 produced. And this one had just 9,142 original miles. It did not take long after reducing his price to get a buyer for this special Corvette. When he notified us using the COL SOLD form he wrote: “SOLD through this great classic car website. Thanks.” That’s what we like to hear.
