Last of the C2’s
This Goodwood Green 1967 Corvette Convertible is actually more rare than the L71 Corvettes that are so popular in the world of Corvette collectors. That is because this one is an L68 427/400 hp with a 3X2 tripower carburetors and a 4-speed manual transmission. Only 2,101 L68’s were produced by Chevrolet that year, making them more rare than the legendary 427/435 horsepower L71’s (3,754 produced.) The classic Corvette muscle car you see here is being offered for sale this week at Legendary Motors, LLC in Rowley, Massachusetts.
The 1967 Corvette was the last year of the C2 generation of Corvettes. Most collectors consider them to be the most desirable of the mid-year Corvettes. The ’67 Stingray had it all; from the sleek body with retractable headlights to the optional factory sidepipes, the ’67 just made sports car fans salivate like Pavlov’s dog. They came with a Stinger hood, bucket seats, power steering, power brakes and wrap around bumpers. This was the epitome of style back in the day.
But with so many ’67 Corvettes having been restored and preserved over the years, what is so special about this one? Watch the video of the undercarriage on the Legendary Motors ad page. Can you tell it from new? That is amazing. Legendary Motors also has another very interesting walk-around video on their page. Get a little history and a very good look at every inch of this car by watching the video. They say it is showing just 60,102 miles on the odometer. It was restored in 1992 and refreshed again in 2013. Look through the photos to view the original tank sticker. It comes with a Top Flight Award from 1997 and another Top Flight Award from 2005.
The Goodwood Green Corvette is running on Rally wheels with center caps and chrome trim rings. Open the hood and you’ll find the rare 427/400 engine topped by a tripower setup. Pump the gas and turn the key to hear a rumble of the side pipes. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about.

Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas … (Oh, yes, I do mean Merry Christmas … not a luke warm Happy Holidays.) In the true meaning of the word, we have a chance to pause and take measure of our lives. With echoes of the Christmas Canon ringing softly, the world seems to have slowed down a bit today so that we can reflect on where we are in our life journey. Isn’t it amazing that because a little child was born 2,029 years ago we still remember his birth on Christmas day. Just as the three kings sought him out to give him gifts and worship him, so we too give each other gifts in remembrance of Christmas in 2025. Our hope for each of you is that you will have a chance to feel the warmth and calm of this season … enjoy the company of the people who are most dear to you … share laughter and stories … and find peace on this blessed day. Merry Christmas to all, and God Bless you … every one.
(We want to thank you for being such loyal readers of this newsletter this past year. This is the last newsletter for 2025. We will not publish the newsletter next Friday, but we will be back the following Friday, January 8, 2025, with a fresh newsletter to start off your New Year.)

2026 Truck of the Year
As the 2025 year comes to an end we note that Motor Trend Magazine has announced their 2026 Truck of the Year, naming the Ford Maverick as their top choice among light pickup trucks for 2026. With pickup trucks seeming to get bigger every year, Motor Trend notes that the Maverick remains the one light duty pickup where you can still maneuver easily and reach over the bedside to grab a tool. With nearly 500,000 units sold, it is the clear leader in its category among light pickup trucks on the market today. For 2026, Ford is updating the software for the Maverick to make it more commuter friendly. One note: the price of a front-drive EcoBoost model Maverick is $1,000 below the Hybrid model. Even the hybrid all-wheel-drive models are lower priced for 2026.
On the collector car front, we are relieved to say goodbye to a tumultuous 2025 that saw collector car values continue to decline as Baby Boomers are trying to thin the herd. Large collections are continually coming up for sale at auction. The glut of collector cars on the market is continuing to drive values down. The good news is that every “would be” collector now has a chance to participate in this hobby which seemed unaffordable just a few years ago. Check out the New Listings here in the newsletter. You’ll be amazed at what you can buy for under $20,000 today.
This Weeks Featured Stories
Jesse James Chopper
Jesse James was a mega TV star back in 2002 when his Monster Garage TV show was so popular on Discovery Channel. Some of the custom bikes he built have commanded top prices on the resale market. Here is a Custom Jesse James Chopper which was just posted for sale by the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania. It is a wild show piece that captures the spirit of Jesse James. From the chromed grips to the Rev-Tech V-twin engine this is a belt driven masterpiece. The front pulley is dressed in a billet shield. Dual exhausts exit through the Vance & Hines mufflers on the right side. The long fork is telescopic. Whether you use it for garage art or drive it on the street, just owning it gives you bragging rights. The Classic Auto Mall says there are only 945 miles on the bike since it was built as a Special Construction vehicle. And, at this price, it’s a steal.
MegaRexx MegaRaptor
Like a raging dinosaur, this 2022 Ford F-250 MagaRexx Raptor climbs out of your screen and roars. This is a truck like no other, fast and aggressive like the beast it is. With a tilt fiberglass front clip and 6.7L V8 Turbo Power Stroke Diesel, it is ready for off-roadin’ like you’ve never dreamed of. The jacked MegaRaptor has 46” Michelin XZL tires on military grade MRAP 3-Piece wheels. It rides on a 4.5-inch high performance suspension with 5-inch full-progressive rear leaf springs, four-wheel remote adjustable reservoir shocks, upgraded radius arms, dual stabilizer bars and adjustable track bars and bump stops. The engine produces 475 horsepower and a ridiculous 1,050 foot pounds of torque. It has a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels or all four corners if the four-wheel drive is engaged. Note the “high approach front and rear bumpers.” It also has fiberglass bed sides. With all this this truck has only 3,122 actual miles. And did we mention the supple leather interior with the most advanced automotive technology as the huge console, power moonroof and big screen infotainment center dominate the inside. Oh, yes. This is the way to truck!

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Post
Ross just got this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Post out of Tennessee. Look at that Turquoise and White tutone paint. He says the front bumper has been rechromed and all the Bel Air side trim is in nice condition. It is being offered for sale today at Ross Customs in Goodrich, Michigan. The glass is mostly original. You have to look close to note that some of the taillight housings look a little aged. He says it is real solid underneath. Click the video window above for a real good video inspection. Now in custom classic condition, it has a lot of nice upgrades to improve the performance and the ride. Be sure to check out the interior with tight headliner and retro factory appearing steering wheel. That trunk is really clean. The fitment on the panels and doors will impress you. Listen to it fire up. This is a nice entry level car for your enjoyment.

2004 Corvette Z06 Commemorative
A 2004 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition was produced by Chevrolet to celebrate the great victories Corvette saw when the C5-R won 10 out of 10 races at LeMans in 2004. This special edition is now available for sale at North Shore Classics in Mundelein, Illinois. It has just 8,509 actual miles, according to their ad description. That is super low mileage on a very collectible Corvette. They say the car shows as new today in its Lemans Blue with special edition trim. They also indicate that it is very well maintained. Options include power windows, power seat, power steering and power brakes. This one has the desirable manual transmission. Note the special Commemorative Edition polished wheels. Project Vehicles for Restoration
1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom
An historic 1929 Rolls-Roysce Phantom P1 has been listed for sale through Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. They specialize in classic cars which have been in storage for extended periods. Cars like this usually need a skilled mechanic to get them ready for a collector to enjoy. Look through the dozens of detailed photos at the link. You will be amazed at how this stunning vintage Rolls-Royce has been maintained. Although they say it runs and drives, it will need some additional work to make it road ready. It is a left-hand-drive Phantom P1 with a striking two-tone color scheme of burgundy and black. It is complemented by color-matched wire wheels. The iconic vintage grille is topped by the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, adding a touch of grandeur. In the photos you will note the slanting windshield and interior wood trim. It has a rear mounted luggage rack and side mounted spare tires. It looks so good in the photos that a discerning collector will see the value in this find.

One of these sold at the Mecum Auction in Harrisburg for $71,500. The seller originally listed it for $59,000. But just this week he said “sell it for $48,000.” Now that’s a good price!

Muscle Car Clones
1966 Chevrolet Biscayne 427 Tribute
One of the greatest of all time “sleepers” was the Chevrolet Biscayne that came from the factory with a big block 427 engine. The L72 427/425 horsepower engine was available to order for the Impala, Bel Air and Biscayne. But only 1,856 were ever produced by Chevrolet that year. Because they are so rare, here is a tribute car, a 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne set up like it was a 427 car. It was posted for sale by P.J.’s Auto World in Clearwater, Florida this week. It comes with a big block 454 ci V8, Holley fuel injection and transfers power via a Tremec 5-speed with a 12-bolt rear end. And it has cold air conditioning. At a stop sign you can give ‘em the go sign and light ‘em up.
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:
1971 Chevelle, Streetside Tampa, SS Tribute
1972 Chevelle, Streetside Tampa, SS 454 Tribute
1969 Camaro, Streetside Tampa, SS Tribute
1967 Chevelle Convertible, Super Sport Classics, FL, SS Tribute

Deals of the Day
1963 Dart GT Convertible
The Classic Auto Mall has listed a number of very desirable collector cars at very affordable prices this week. The best one is this 1963 Dodge Dart GT Convertible with relatively low miles. Although they say the miles cannot be verified, the odometer shows 78,734. It comes with a replacement 225 ci Slant Six engine. The owner told the Classic Auto Mall that the engine has just 60k on it. With a push button automatic transmission and bucket seats, this sporty little GT has some interesting elements. The car rides on rebuilt front independent torsion bar suspension and in back leaf springs. The brakes are newer as well with manually actuated drums on all 4 corners. On their test drive they said the car “drove beautifully, shifted smoothly and accelerated like a champ.” The only thing they noted was the reverse lights not working. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is only $14,000.
1929 Model A Sport Coupe
The Classic Auto Mall also has a very interesting early Ford Model A for sale at a very good price this week. They posted this 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe, an attractive 20-footer with some road rash, scuffs, paint chips and minor surface rust. The colors are attractive with the Balsam Green with black base elements and fenders. The to is ivory colored with silver Landau bars. Brown Bedford cord cloth covers the bench seat with nice column stitching, seat belts, and overall great condition. They tell us that the 201 ci inline 4-cylinder engine is numbers matching and produces 40 horsepower according to Henry. The engine bay is not detailed. Although it drives as it should, they noted that the speedometer, odometer and trip odometer were not working. Also the driver’s window does not roll up. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $16,000.
1996 BMW 850Ci
It wasn’t that long ago that a BMW 8 Series sports car would command a premium price. While the prices have come down on these cars recently, here is one offered for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club that looks like an extemely affordable value. The 1996 BMW 850Ci was a true icon of automotive engineering and a sporty handling V-12 power house. There was nothing quite like it. This one has Cosmos Schwarz metallic paint and silver-grey interior. The interior has maple wood trim. They tell us it has just 99k miles. It does have the 5.4 liter V-12 engine and an automatic gearbox with power steering, power windows, power door locks, 4-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning and cruise control. Although this was designed as a sports car, inside it offers a luxurious and comfortable driving environment. The front seats are power adjustable, mirrors are electronically controlled and it has a Pioneer radio. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $22,750.
1965 Ford Thunderbird
Peruse through the photos of this Ivy Green 1965 Ford Thunderbird with the Honey Gold interior. You’ll be impressed. This car shows why the Ford Thunderbird was one of the top picks for young executives in the mid-1960’s. It is being offered for sale this week at P.J.’s Auto World in Clearwater, Florida. It has all the power you could want with its Z Code 390 ci V8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. And it comes with the swing away steering column and cruiser skirts. Naturally it has factory air conditioning, a center console, wood grain dash trim and chrome sport mirror on the driver’s side. It also has power steering, power brakes, steel wheels with hubcaps and radial white wall tires. This would have been a hot setup back in the day. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. Their asking price is $19,900.
1950 Ford Tudor
For a quality driver class car this 1950 Ford Tudor Sedan will impress you. We would judge it to be a 10-footer visually. As you get up close you will note some chrome and trim that needs upkeep, but not bad for a 75-year-old car. The paint holds up pretty well with its two-tone Ruby Red and Black styling, but again as you get up close you notice some imperfections. The fender skirts are a nice touch. Overall this is a great looking car. The interior is faded and door panels wrinkled, but still very serviceable. It has the 239 ci Flathead V8 and a 2-barrel carburetor. The manual shift is on the tree with an 8-ball handle. But this car runs on a 12-volt system. They say on a test drive you will hear a throaty note from the exhaust as the car tracks and handles well. They noted that the windshield wiper is not working. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on New Year’s Eve next week. Their asking price is $17,000.
1969 Ford F-250 Ranger
We scrolled through the photos and remain very impressed with the way this 1969 Ford F-250 Ranger pickup truck looks. The look and stance give the impression that this may be a solid old truck to own. Of course, a pre-purchase inspection would help you determine what condition class it is in. It is being offered for sale this week at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. The body panels and trim show good fitment in these photos. And we were really impressed with the interior. The door panels look fresh and the interior is almost too clean for a work truck like this one. However when you look at the bed you see that it has done its share of hauling. Equipped with an automatic transmission and a capable V8 engine topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, the truck features power steering for ease of driving, along with drum brakes on all four wheels. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is $15,750.
2005 BMW Z4 Roadster
BMW’s Z4 roadster was an upgrade from their earlier Z3’s which were noted to lack the power you wanted from a two-seater sports car. The 2.5 liter 6 cylinder factory engine was rated at 184 horsepower and was backed by a 5-speed automatic transmission. That’s why this 2005 BMW Z4 Roadster is such a surprise to us today. The price is very affordable. We don’t think we’ve seen one at this price before. It is being offered for sale at P.J.’s Auto World in Clearwater, Florida. The beautiful white interior is complemented by its canvas convertible top. It has air conditioning, keyless entry, power windows, power steering, power remote mirrors, factory BMW sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes and 16” alloy wheels. They tell us it has just 45,803 miles and comes with a clean AutoCheck history report. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking just $10,900. Now that’s a lotta’ car for the price.
