Iconic ’69 Z/28 Camaro
Although you will find a lot of 1969 Camaro Z/28’s for sale on the internet, it is unusual to find one that has an all original drive train and all original sheet metal. To a true collector this matters. The Z/28 from 1969 is on the top end of the car collector’s echelon. Few cars are deemed so iconic and richly valued.
This 1969 Camaro Z/28 has just been listed for sale at Verrillo Motor Car Company in Clinton Park, New York. It was originally assembled at the Norwood, Ohio plant and left the factory in the color combination you see here. The Code 72 Hugger Orange paint with white stripes is accented by a parchment vinyl top and Code 729 White Houndstooth Deluxe interior. All of this is recorded on the Trim Plate data.
It was verified by Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance LLC as an original Hugger Orange 1969 Camaro with RPO Z/28, as having its original drive train. MacNeish said, “This Z28 Camaro trim tag and drive train have been verified as real and authentic.” He noted that the engine block casting was correct and that it was the original 302/290 hp V8. Likewise, he said the Muncie M22 HD 4-speed is stamped original to the vehicle. And the rear axle 4.10 positrac casting was also original. You can read the report in the ad photo gallery.
Click here to listen to Joe Verrillo walk you through an inspection video and hear it run.
The Z/28 was ordered new with many options, including A01 Tinted Glass, C08 Vinyl Roof covering, D56 console, D88 spoiler, G80 positraction with 4.10 ratio, J52 power disc brakes, M22 4-speed, U17 special instruments, U63 AM radio, U73 rear-mounted antenna, VE3 Special Front bumper, Z28 special engine and equipment package, Z87 Deluxe interior and Zk3 Deluxe seat belts.
You just don’t find many Z/28’s like this one.

Happy Thanksgiving
As you are fighting off a tryptophanic slumber after Thanksgiving dinner, we know you will want to enjoy America’s favorite passtime … reading Cars-On-Line.com ads on your cell phone. So we are bringing you the Cars-On-Line newsletter a day early this week to get you off the gravy train. We wish you and your family a warm and happy Thanksgiving Day, ripe with friendships and filled with the warmth of the holiday. We want to warn you, though, to watch out for Uncle Joe should he break out with a “brutal round” of Dad jokes like this one. “I’m making stuffing and I’m running out of thyme.” Or, “It’s getting cold in the computer room, you must have left your Windows open.” “Pass me the corn, I hear it’s ear-resistable.” “A few weeks ago I went on a 30-day diet. So far, I’ve lost 15 days.” “I told my wife she should embrace her mistakes. She gave me a big hug.” So let’s raise our gobble-lets and toast to the joy of family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
EU, California Petrol Ban
In September of 2020, Gavin Newsom, the current California governor, put through a ban on the sale of new gasoline-powered cars effective in 2035. His executive order (Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) rule) bans the sale of new passenger cars and trucks that use gasoline or diesel. In 2023 the European Parliament and its member states (EU) formally approved a similar 2035 Petrol Ban into law. Neither the California law nor the EU’s 2035 Petrol Ban will effect gasoline powered vehicles produced before 2035, so it will not prohibit collector cars from being used. It also does not effect the buying and selling of collector cars. However, the cost of operating collector cars will go up because gas and diesel fuels will inevitably become more expensive and harder to procure. The California ban has since been blocked by Congress by nullifying the EPA waiver which would allow the state to implement such a ban. President Trump signed the resolutions blocking the California ban. But a legal challenge is winding its way through the courts from California. The congressional action also blocked similar California rules governing gas and diesel powered light and heavy duty trucks. Click here to read an open forum on Reddit.

1967 Corvette 427/400
Verrillo Motor Car Company in New York came up with another icon of the muscle car era. This is a Sunfire Yellow 1967 Corvette 427/400 Convertible with a Tuxedo Black stinger. It is considered by many Corvette collectors as the perfect color combination for this big block Corvette. It has the K66 Code Transistor Ignition and a whole lot of very impressive options. The L68 big block motor is the big draw, but it also has the M21 4-speed manual transmission, 3:70 Posi rear end, C60 4-Season air conditioning, a black soft top and a C07 vinyl covered auxiliary hard top. It was sold new at A.D. Anderson Chevrolet in Baltimore, Maryland and still has a beautifully preserved tank sticker. The tank sticker has been authenticated by Al Greening’s CCAS. It has been restored to “better than new finish” and was documented and photographed throughout the restoration process. They say the engine was rebuilt and dyno tested at 442 horsepower. The interior is has beautiful black vinyl “in excellent conditon.” This one is exceptional.
1964 Buick Riviera Lowrider
One of the best kept secrets about the Cars-On-Line.com website is how popular the Lowrider Section is. Our Lowrider Section page is regularly in the Number 1 position in Google searches. So you can bet this 1964 Buick Riviera Lowrider ad will get a monster number of pageviews this weekend. It was just listed for sale at Earth MotorCars out of Carrollton, Texas (suburb of Dallas.) Check out all the photos. You see it hear pancaked to the ground with its high tech Air Ride suspension. It has dual compressors mounted in the trunk. The custom Riv is “guaranteed to win shows,” says Earth MotorCars. It has the 425 ci V8 producing 340 horsepower mated to a TH400 automatic transmission. The interior is classic Buick, but with extra wood accents. It rolls on 20” Billet Specialties wheels and that dual Flowmaster exhaust gives it just the right sound for a lowrider.

1940 Mercury Custom Convertible
Here’s something really different. It’s a seldom seen 1940 Mercury Custom Convertible that has been chopped and channeled for a very unique look and stance. It is being offered for sale by Classical Gas Motors. Watch the video above and you’ll notice that it is an extremely well done build. The chop looks professional. I say that because of the way the windows fit so nice (hard to do with a convertible top.) It’s like a lead sled only with a convertible top. Nice interior, too! This is one you could be proud to own.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
1988 Chrysler Conquest TSI
Chrysler’s attempt to put an affordable sports car on the new car buyer’s radar was comendable. 1922 Dodge CB Screenside
In 1922 the Dodge CB Screenside delivery vehicle was an open air light-duty commercial truck which was based on a sedan passenger car chassis. It would have had a wood plank bed and wood framed roof. But the name Screenside came from the metal bedside screens used to keep produce or cargo in as well as keeping fresh air in the cargo area. This CB Screenside would have had a 1,000-pound load capacity. The seller says it is very original, and runs “great.” It is a rare classic Dodge Brothers truck. The private party seller from Idaho was originally asking $20,000 for this rare classic truck. But just this week he dropped the price to $12,000. Now that’s a deep discount worth considering.

Muscle Car Clones
Yenko Camaro 427 Tribute
Here is one of the nicest 1969 Yenko Camaro 427 tributes you will ever find. It is being offered for sale through Verrillo Motor Car Company in New York state. Yenko clones are some of the most sought after recreations, very popular among collectors. If you haven’t had the heart pounding thrill of driving with a big block 427/425 hp monster engine in a Pony car, you haven’t lived. As you can see from the description, this Camaro 427 is very authentic to the original cars built by Don Yenko at his dealership in Pennsylvania back in the day. And this is an original X44 Camaro. It is the recipient of a complete professional restoration. Verrillo tells us that the attention to detail on this build is exceptional. The exterior finish is the legendary Code 76 Daytona Yellow basecoat clearcoat with black Yenko sYc decals, D80 front and rear spoilers and a factory style cowl induction hood. It even has the traditional Yenko style American Racing Torque Thrust wheels.
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:

Deals of the Day
1976 Corvette Coupe
A 1976 Corvette Coupe was just posted for sale in the COL Corvette Section this week. At best it may be of driver quality. You should have it inspected before you buy. The listing is so fresh that the lister, Unique Classic Cars out of Mankato, Minnesota has not yet written the description. You can tell from the photos that it has not yet been detailed and shows some patina and surface rust, at the least. Call to find out if it runs and drives. And you should have a pre-purchase inspection done on the car before you buy it. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. What makes it interesting is the price. They are only asking $16,900 for a Corvette.
1929 Ford Phaeton
Out of the thousands of 1920’s Ford Model A classics still on the road, here is one that is real interesting because of the price. This 1929 Ford Model A Phaeton looks pretty good in the photos. Of course, a pre-purchase inspection would tell you more about the condition class. It is being offered for sale through Haggle Me, an internet broker that helps Baby Boomers put their classic cars up for sale on the internet. This 4-door phaeton looks pretty clean in the photos. That makes it stand out from the crowd. Haggle Me says it has a nice brown colored convertible top, wire wheels and big whitewall tires. They tell us it runs and drives well. You know that it is a 4 cylinder Model A with a manual transmission. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday this weekend. Their asking price is only $16,900.
1951 Ford 2-Door Rat Rod
A 1951 Ford 2-Door Rat Rod was listed for sale by North Shore Classics this week. Look closely at the body and interior. At first glance you might not catch the subtle body modifications. The custom interior looks clean and professionally done. Look at the custom dash and gauges. For a driver class build this one holds up. It even sports a clean trunk. The original Flathead V8 shows a clean engine compartment and period custom work with the dual carbs. North Shore Classics tells us it is “very well maintained,” and runs well. Unlike many old school customs, the sheet metal all matches and it has good gaps and brightwork. For the price, it is a real find. Have it inspected before you buy, but hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is only $14,900.
1956 Ford Thunderbird
Like clockwork, Beverly Hills Car Club has done it again. They have come up with yet another first generation 1956 Ford Thunderbird for sale below $30,000. You know what we always say, “If you find a first generation T-Bird for less than $30,000 … buy it.” This Raven black baby bird is worth looking into. It has the classic red and white interior with a removable porthole auxiliary hardtop. The V8 car with Holley single barrel carburetor has an automatic transmission, and comes with a Continental kit, a fender mounted antenna, Coker Classic whitewall tires on 15-inch steel wheels with Ford hubcaps. It is said to have a retro-style stereo. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. Their asking price is $28,500.
1971 VW Type 2 Bus
Volkswagen buses were one of the first vehicles the Gen-X generation of younger Americans got a passion for collecting. It seemed to start in California and swept across the nation as Gen-X’ers started raising families and found the Volkwagen buses were a great way to explore America with a family. Sound familiar, Baby Boomers? The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree. Beverly Hills Car Club also listed this 1971 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus, the Tin Top Camper van from our era. This is the iconic “Bay Window” camper the exudes Volkswagen timeless charm. “Get out on the highway,” in an air-cooled flat four cylinder micro van from California. This one has a sink, storage cabinets, rear-facing jump seat, fold-out tables and front wheel disc brakes. It has a 4-speed manual transmission and dual exhaust. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. Their asking price on this one is $16,750. (Remember when these were going for $100,000 fully restored?)
1977 Lincoln Town Car
When you graduated from the base Continental to the Town Car in 1977, you got more Lincoln. That is one way to put it. The 1977 Lincoln Town Car had a 127.2-inch wheelbase and was 233 inches long overall. It is massive. This week Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota listed one of these plush mammoths for sale. It has the 460 ci V8 big block engine paired with a C6 automatic transmission. The white Lincoln has a partial vinyl roof, fender skirts and Lincoln wheel covers. While the body is said to be straight and well-maintained, the paint has some tourch-ups and minor corrosion. Click here to watch the walk-around video inspection to see where they point out the paint problems. The plush pillow top interior shows some wear. And they say the air conditioning does not blow cold. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is only $14,900.
2008 Chrysler Crossfire
The Chrysler Crossfire two-seater sports car was one of Daimler-Chrysler’s finest gifts to new car buyers. Today they are a wonderful “future” collectible. Here is a final-year 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Convertible, the last of a four-year production run largely because Daimler sold its controlling stake in Chrysler in 2007. All of the 2008 models were produced by December of 2007. This was the car designed by Daimler and was a good car. It deserves to be preserved by collectors. This one has just 55,000 Florida miles and is being offered for sale by Sovereign Auto Group in Flushing, Michigan. They are used car wholesalers that will acquire collectible cars from time to time. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week if it lasts that long. They are blowing it out at just $13,000.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
