Brass Era Buick
Willie Durant was a mercurical character, one of immense importance to the automotive world during his time building General Motors. Some say his acquisition of Buick financed the whole GM enterprise. That was at a time when Buick developed the legendary Model 10. The first year under Durant’s leadership in 1908 Buick almost doubled its sales propelled by the popularity of the Model 10. That success fueled his negotiation ability to finance the acquisition of Chevrolet.
This week a 1909 Buick Model 10 Tourabout was listed for sale through the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. They say the mechanicals have been rebuilt by professionals. It presents well in its stunning black and white colors and has all of its brass era trim. Its simplistic design is just one step away from a horse carriage, but is a stylish visual of how the classic motorcar evolved. With black leather upholstery, the brass and wood accoutrements stand out. Under the engine cover is a four cylinder Schebler 1-barrel carburetor rebuilt by The Car Doctor. It sets in a nicely original engine compartment. A rebuilt magneto and 2-speed planetary transmission are among the innovations of the brass era. It has mechanical drum brakes on the rear wheels only, and the suspension includes semi-elliptical springs in front with full elliptical springs in back.
The Classic Auto Mall has test turned the engine by hand. (The new owner will have to prepare it for full start.) We take it that this car has been displayed more than driven in recent years.
We should note that the Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles which are for sale. Their 8-acre facility provides 336,000 square feet of climate controlled indoor showroom. It is literally a converted shopping mall. You might want to look up their podcast or watch the podcast on You Tube. This is a very interesting consignment dealer.

Classic Car News This Week
What’s Going On With The Market?
The classic car market in 2025 is stalled. That much you already know. According to Hagerty Insurance, 90 percent of collectible cars either stayed the same or dropped in value during the first half of 2025. But the big news is that younger generations of buyers are transforming the market. A small segment of popular cars from the past are now emerging as the “hot trends” for Millenials and Gen-Exers. These include Datsun 280ZX, Delorean, Toyota MR2, Ferrari F355, Porsche 996, Dodge Magnum SRT-8’s, Ford Broncos from the 1980’s and Lamborghini Gallardos. American muscle cars (especially C3 Corvette Stingrays) and traditional European sports cars may be on the downtrend, but an undercurrent of 1980’s cars is on the rise.
On the other side of the coin, since prices are declining on many of the classic 1950’s cars, they are now at a price range that many “would-be” collectors can afford. We think that rather than a “market crash,” this is a correction in the collector car market. You just have to be more careful about what you pay for a collector car these days. Mopar muscle cars, especially lower priced Plymouth Road Runners, are disappearing fast from our listings. And it is hard to find a good AMC AMX these days. The 1968 AMC AMX pictured here was just been listed for sale by Motorcar Classics in New York. It will probably be gone by next week. Some of the younger Baby Boomers are still actively trading, and they are eating this up. One collector from California told us he sold his 1957 Chevy just a few days after listing it. The market is very good if you are in the right price range.
This Weeks Featured Stories
1970 Plymouth Superbird
Man, there are some rare cars in our New Listings this week. Case in point: a 1970 Plymouth Superbird with the 440 and a 6 Pack was listed for sale by Motorcar Classics out of Farmingdale, New York. The incredible thing about this classic Mopar is the mileage. It is a documented survivor with just 21,000 miles. Only 308 Superbirds were produced with the 440 6 Pack and a 4-speed. They say this one is still numbers matching, both engine and the Pistol Grip 4-speed transmission. The color is the popular EV2 Tor Red paint. It comes with factory black bucket seats. It has not been restored, but remains totally original.
Studebaker Provincial Wagon
Here is another really rare collector station wagon. The Pink 1958 Studebaker Provincial 4-Door Wagon is a vision right out of the 1950’s. Studebaker only made 4,600 of these wagons, and this one is pink with a pink surf board attached in the roof rack. It is being offered for sale at the Jensen Dealerships, a dealership chain in Iowa that gets some interesting collector cars in their inventory. They say it has been restored and is rust free. They say it is a good strong runner, powered by a 259 ci V8 with a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has dual exhaust and rides on a set of Coker Classic whitewall tires with factory wheels and OEM hubcaps.
Aston Martin DB2
Early production Aston Martins have been so popular in the past ten years that you just couldn’t imagine affording one. But prices have leveled off. So you may want to check out this 1953 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage which was just listed for sale by Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria, New York. The beautiful classic sports luxury car is one of just 75 factory-built left-hand-drive examples produced and is powered by its original matching numbers engine in desirable high-performance Vantage spec from new. The color, Crushed Strawberry over gray leather, is very rare. With very nice paint and chrome, they say it starts, runs and drives very well. The soft top and interior are said to be “excellent.”

Deals of the Day
1968 Corvette Convertible
Beverly Hills Car Club, a classic car dealer in Los Angeles, came up with some interesting collector car deals this week, including this Lemans Blue 1968 Corvette Convertible. The 1968 Corvette marked the debut of the C3 Corvette Stingray body. The sleek lines and aggressive stance would signify Corvette for many years to come. Baby Boomers identify with them strongly. This one has a 4-speed and 15-inch Rally wheels and Chevrolet hubcaps. It comes with 4-wheel disc brakes, concealed headlights, white convertible soft top, quadruple taillights and chrome bumpers. Featured amenities include bucket seating, lap belts, driver-side rearview mirror and the Delco FM/AM stereo. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The iconic Corvette is priced at $26,500. Hurry!
1913 Ford Model T Runabout
This rare 1913 Ford Model T Runabout looks really nice for its age. It is also being offered for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It is a pure pleasure to look at these photos. What a time capsule of automotive history. They say it is mechanically sound, so it runs and drives. The Runabout is powered by a 4-cylinder engine, delivering a 22 horsepower. The engine’s 176.4 cubic inch displacement is a marvel of its time that was revolutionary in the early 1900s. This classic vehicle features a planetary transmission, a hallmark of Ford’s engineering prowess. Additional equipment includes brass accents, wood multi-spoke wheels, split-folding windshield, black convertible soft top, dual-side rearview mirrors, and a rear-mounted spare tire. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $16,750.
1947 Ford Deluxe Fordor
A Dark Navy Blue 1947 Ford Deluxe Fordor Sedan looks good in the photos. It was just posted for sale by Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota. Although the Mohair interior is showing a slight bit of wear, this car is very clean for its age. Under the hood lies the iconic 239 ci Flathead V8 with original style oil bath air filter. The car’s brightwork presents well. It has a 3-speed manual transmission. There are a few imperfections but they tell us the car retains a nice shine and looks presentable enough to take to your local car shows. Look at the photos. Steel wheels with the right hubcaps. Click here to watch a walk-around video inspection. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is $16,900.
1966 Ford Mustang
If you have an adventurous spirit and a knack for working on British sports cars, this 1960 Triumph TR3 Roadster is a great find. It is being offered for sale through Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. Not a perfect car, the body needs some work and the top needs new cloth. But you don’t often see a ’60 this nice. It has wire wheels with two-eared knock-off wheel spinners, front-wheel disc brakes, SU dual carburetors, single exhaust outlet, Jaeger instruments, Lucas-branded ammeter gauge, convertible soft top frame, chrome bumpers, three-spoke steering wheel, whitewall tires, and side curtains on the side. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. I think you will agree that this is a lotta’ car for the money. They are asking $15,750.
1962 Austin Healey Roadster
As replicas or reproductions go, this one looks very presentable and drivable. Unique Classic Cars of Mankato, Minnesota also listed this 1962 Austin Healey Roadster replica for sale this week. Since they just got it in fresh, they did not yet have a full description on this one. We can tell from the photos that it has a Ford 289 ci V8 engine under the hood. That is very interesting. I wonder what it would drive like with all that power … a Cobra, maybe? The body looks good in the photos. It has dual exhaust. The interior is both clean and sharp with the parade boot matching the top. Have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week. Their asking price is $19,900.
1964 Triumph TR4 Convertible
You want the iconic look of a British two-seater sports car, but want a little more power under the hood? Here is a 1964 Triumph TR4 Convertible that fits the bill. It is being offered for sale by Streetside Classics in Charlotte, North Carolina. They say it was restored as a “restomod.” Clad in the famous British Racing Green with all the aesthetics of a classic roadster, they say it was restored to look like it did the day it rolled off the line in the U.K. The engine compartment now features a 2.4 liter 22R Toyota 4 cylinder engine fed by a Weber carburetor and Offenhauser intake. It now has a 5-speed manual transmission which they say shifts smoothly. With new wiring and an aluminum radiator, the cooling system hold temps in the right range. Click here to watch a walk-around video. They say there are fewer than 2,000 miles on the build. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week Their asking price is $17,995.
2003 BMW Z4 3.0
If you’ve ever driven the BMW Z3 roadster that was so popular back in the 1990’s you may have noticed they were a little under-powered. That’s why BMW came out with the Z4. Here is a 2003 BMW Z4 3.0 Roadster for example. The Turbocharged Inline 6 cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed improved the power curve immensely. They improved the suspension on the Z4 as well, making handling more agile and more like a race car. The Z4 was equipped with more modern technology, larger touchscreen display, advanced safety features, and more comfort for longer rides. The Z4 gets better fuel efficiency also. This one from Streetside Classics in Charlotte, North Carolina has a leather interior, air conditioning, power top, power windows, power mirrors and a power seat. Click here to view a walk-around video and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $18,995.
