An Elvis Cadillac?
There was a little bit of buzz on the internet this week when a Microsoft AI bot picked up on an ad that appeared on Cars-On-Line.com with a reference to Elvis Presley. It is amazing the way a celebrity reference like that will rustle up interest in a collector car. The 1962 Cadillac Series 62 2-Door Hardtop is in such nice shape that it should create a stir in its own right. But a connection to the the King of Rock N Roll makes it that much better to a car collector.
Known for his generosity, there are a myriad of stories about how Elvis would buy a Cadillac and give it away. Some sources say he may have owned up to 200 Cadilacs in his life. Most of those he give away to family members, friends and even people off the street that he would meet. When Elvis wasn’t on the road, he often would be out looking at new cars. He was part of our American car culture. Although the Volo Auto Museum says his favorite car was a Stutz Blackhawk, Elvis seemed to favor Cadillacs as a cultural statement. His car collection (including Harley-Davidsons) was one of the largest of any celebrity. So it is quite common today for people to associate his name with a car they have for sale.
The 1962 Cadillac Series 62 DeVille, which is currently for sale on the Cars-On-Line.com website, is undocumented. But the seller from South Carolina says he was told that the car was one of the Cadillacs that Elvis gave to his good friend and performance coordinator Charlie Hodge. “I bought it from a dealer friend of mine in Landrum, SC,” he told us. “He bought it out of an estate sale. He had the car for a little while. When he sold it to me he told me it was one of the cars that Elvis Presley bought and gave to his friend. It is a story that creates a little buzz to go with the car. But I don’t have any documentation to that effect.”
The seller put an extensive condition report in the ad. “It’s in excellent condition,” the South Carolina owner told us. “It’s showing 50 some thousand miles. Titles are marked exempt in South Carolina when they are 10 years or older. But it is in such nice condition, I would believe the miles might be accurate.”
If you are looking for a documented celebrity car, this one won’t fit the bill. But if you want a good collector car with a good story behind it, you might want to investigate further.

Greenbrier Concours
A discrete and exclusive concours event happens every year in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. It is known as the Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance because it is held on the grounds of the Greenbrier Resort there. With the backdrop of the grand hotel and the West Virginia mountains, it is an idealic scene as vintage Packards, Pierce Arrows and exotic European sports cars line the horseshoe boulevard. Last weekend was the 8th annual event at the Greenbrier, and it is sure to be an event more Baby Boomers will be putting on their “bucket list.” Our photo-journalist, Bob Boberg, of eClassicAutos.com was there and recorded many of the fine motorcars displayed there. Click here to follow his story and see sliders full of vintage wonder. Note the Best In Class winners and special award winners listed there. These are some historic cars that you will not see anywhere else.

1969 Camaro Big Block Pace Car
There have been an unusual number of ’69 Indy Pace Cars showing up in our listings this year. But none of them can compare to this Dover White 1969 Camaro Z11 Indy Pace Car Convertible which was just listed for sale by Vanguard Motor Sales in Plymouth, Michigan. Under the hood sits an SS396 V8, the big block muscle that powered the three actual pace setters at the race in 1969. Its authenticity has been verified by Jerry MacNeish, the Camaro guru. Not only does it have the rare 396 (most of the Pace Car dealer versions came with 350 V8s), but it is well optioned with a manual Muncie 4-speed, power brakes, power steering, and a 12-bolt rear end with 4.10 posi gears. You will note the Rally wheels and Orange Houndstooth interior. The ’69 Pace Cars with the 396 are almost impossible to find. Leave it to Vanguard to come up with a real one!

Boss 351 Mustang
The Boss 351 Mustang was a one-year only production for Ford. Alas, the muscle car era was reaching maturity, and this would be the last of the Mustang muscle cars. This week, RK Motors Charlotte listed a documented 1971 Mustang Boss 351 that has had a detailed restoration. It is one of only 1,806 Boss 351’s produced, and one of only 120 which came from the factory in white. It has the correct 351 V8 and a Toploaded 4-speed with a 9-inch Ford rear end and Traction-lok. This one is RK Motors certified to be ready to enjoy and drive. It has undergone a full restoration and is splendid with its blacked-out NACA ducted hood feeding the functional Ram Air induction system. The engine bay is complete with factory markings. This was the car that came from the factory with a competition level suspension package. A Ford collector has to have one of these in his stable. They are legendary.
Studebaker Golden Hawk
We are looking forward to the next GAA Classic Car Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 24-26, 2025. You will find a sneak peak at some of the top cars that will be crossing the auction block in this week’s New Listings. (Find the link above.) There is already a fine selection of classic 1950’s era cars to oogle over. This 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk is one of the stellar cars in the lineup. The Golden Hawk was an unusual car for its time. With European styling and design, it incorporated an American taste for performance, making it one of the top sports cars of all time. You see, Studebaker put a Paxton Supercharger under the hood. You could manually turn it off, or on. When it was on, it would blow a Corvette off the road. This Golden Hawk will be offered at No Reserve at the upcoming GAA Classic in July. It is part of the exclusive Jimmy and Julianna Rawls Collection.
Auctions
We’re getting excited to head for North Carlina to experience the Raleigh Classic Spring Auction, May 30-31, 2025. Cars-On-Line.com will be heading for Youngsville, North Carolina for the Raleigh Classic Auction at the Capitol Auto Auction facility. From past auctions we’ve covered there our readers know the Raleigh Classic is one of the best auctions to buy true low miles collector cars. Many of the top collector car dealers throughout the Southeastern states will be there. They say there will be over 300 choice vehicles in the sale. The Raleigh Classic takes pride in curating the best cars in the hobby for the two-day event. For example, here are a few we will be watching.
Low Mile Cadillac
The Raleigh Auction is famous for is offering collector Cadillacs with low miles. After all, good Cadillacs must be cherished and only driven on weekends. That’s why so many show up at the Raleigh Classic for sale, because somebody cared. Here is a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. Everybody knows that this car was to be the last Cadillac convertible produced. That was the story back in ’76 when liability insurance on convertibles became prohibitive. So everybody bought the Eldorado convertible and stored them away for posterity. Likely that is what happened with this Firethorn Red one-owner example with a white top. They say it still has just 14,659 miles from new. It will cross the auction block here at the Raleigh Classic on Friday, May 30.
Rare Collector Wagon
A rare and iconic Gold Mist and Victoria White 1957 Oldsmobile 88 Fiesta Wagon will be sold on Friday, May 30, at the Raleigh Classic in Youngsville later this month. They say it has been meticulously maintained. While it presents as being very original, it has had some added modern conveniences. For instance, it now has power steering, power brakes, a power-adjustable seat for personalized comfort, and upgraded air conditioning to keep you cool on hot days. A modern AM/FM stereo provides entertainment on longer trips. The interior accommodates six passengers comfortably. The Oldsmobile Fiesta Wagon is considered one of the most elegant station wagons ever built. Oldsmobile celebrated their 50th Anniversary with this Golden Rocket 88 design.
Buick Super Convertible
Cadillacs aren’t the only collector cars that show up here with low miles. Wait till you see the lineup of truly vintage motorcars that will cross the auction block here in North Carolina this month. A 1941 Buick Super Convertible comes with its Straight 8 Fireball engine. They tell us it has super low mileage with only 32,273 miles recorded. You can believe it when you see the sleek black finish and tan soft top with gorgeous Bordeaux leather interior. Wow! And that Fireball 8 engine is the one every Buick collector knows as smooth and reliable. Those fender skirts really set it off. This historic car will be crossing the auction block on Saturday, May 31. We can’t wait to see what it will sell for.

1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
The seller of this 1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible has owned the car for 45 years. With swing-away steering column, sequential tail lights and wrap around back seat, this Ford T-Bird was way ahead of its time. In the walk-around video you can really get the feel of this luxury sports car from the 1960’s. During the video, the seller’s son reveals that he has a Sports Roadster landau cover for the back seat. WeBe Autos takes it for a test drive to rap up a very informative video. Dozens of photos are available on the ad page. But the video is the topping on the cake.

Project Vehicles for Restoration
1936 Rolls-Royce 25-30 Limousine
If you’ve been reading our newsletter for any length of time you know that Beverly Hills Car Club specializes in finding hidden treasures in forgotten storage areas and garages. Here is a great example. A 1936 Rolls-Rouce 25-30 Limousine was just listed by Beverly Hills Car Club, and they say it needs quite a bit of attention. It does not run, and will need to be restored. But it would be well worth the effort. It was coach built by Thrupp & Maberly, and is a right=hand-drive vehicle with rear jump seats. And, yes, it still has the Spirit of Ecstasy radiator mascot.

A Mopar collector from Oregon got real serious about selling his 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring this week. It has won many many prestigious show trophies. They say every nut and bolt was replaced or polished to ensure quality. The private party seller was asking $64,000 for the beautiful Mopar. Muscle Car Clones
Baldwin Motion Corvette
Here is an awesome 1969 Corvette Baldwin Motion L88 tribute car that is probably better than the real era correct version. Finished in menacing Tuxedo Black, it has the Motion striping and a legendary Phase III styling, they way they looked when they dominated race tracks on the East Coast. Only this one has a 496 V8 big block engine. The center console houses the shifter for precise control over the manual valve body transmission. The tribute car is being offered for sale at Streetside Classics out of their Atlanta store. This is a very special car.
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:
1970 Pontiac GTO, Haggle Me, Judge Tribute
1970 Mustang Fastback, Super Sport Classics, Boss 302 tribute
1969 Camaro, Streetside Atlanta, RS Z/28 tribute

Deals of the Day
1965 Galaxie 500 Convt
Try to find a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible in nice shape as this one. While it is not perfect, it is priced so reasonably, it is the best deal on the internet this week. It is being offered for sale by the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. It may be a price leader to get you to come down to Morgantown to see the incredible displays they have there. They say it has title verified 96,255 actual miles. Owned by our consignor since 2009 and restored by the previous owner some time before that, it has since been garaged and never driven in the rain. They say it drives well and tracks straight. They do note that the reverse lights and air conditioning were not working at the time of the test drive. It will be our DEAL of the DAY, however, on Saturday. Their asking price is only $19,900.
1928 Pontiac Roadster
Another car that is “in the money” is this 1928 Pontiac Roadster from New York. The classic Pontiac has had a nice older restoration which still presents well. That is the way Gullwing Classic Cars puts it in their description. They acquired the car from a collector who has owned it for the past 20 years. They say it runs and drives well, and is ready to be enjoyed. They note that it would be a great car for shows, tours or parades. Be sure to look at all the photos on the ad page. The good news is that it will not be expensive to enjoy this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. Their asking price is only $17,500.
1948 Mercury Eight
Yet another classic car has been listed at a great price. This 1948 Mercury Eight was just listed for sale by RareRides in North Carolina. This iconic post war Mercury really looks good in the photos. They say the body appears straight and clean. It has a Flathead V8 engine with a 3-speed column-shift manual transmission. It has already been converted to 12-volt electricals. The deep maroon paint is said to have a deep shine and shows beautifully overall—definitely enough to turn heads at the local cruise-in! There are some imperfections, consistent with an older repaint, but nothing that detracts. Look at the interior photos. They say it shows well. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday next week. Their asking price is $17,995. Hurry!
1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk
After the merger of Studebaker and Packard in 1954, Studebaker was in the midst of producing some of their finest cars. The Studebaker Golden Hawk was way ahead of its time in styling and design. This 1956 Studbaker Golden Hawk is a great example. It has been offered for sale by its private party owner from British Columbia, Canada. Showing just 54,978 miles, it is said to be in “great driving condition all around.” It has the Packard 352 ci V8 engine with a 3-speed manual transmission on the column with Overdrive. It has been in the same family since the mid-1990’s. It looks beautiful in the photos. Don’t forget to have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! This one is reasonably priced. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. The asking price is $23,800.
1964 Chrysler 300
A 1964 Chrysler 300 has been listed for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. It is a handsome looking car with Ivory exterior color and black interior. Of course, it has a V8 engine, quad headlights, 14-inch steel wheels, bucket seats and push button transmission. Although the body is not perfect, the photos show pretty even panel gaps. The undercarriage needs attention as does the engine compartment. However, they say it runs and drives. Be sure to have it inspected so you know what you are getting into. For the right person this will be an excellent find. A classic luxury car of this stature deserves the effort. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. Their asking price is $12,750.
Town Car Limousine
If you’ve always wanted to own a limousine, here is your chance. A 1988 Lincoln Town Car Limousine is being offered for sale by the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania. It was built by Hess & Eisenhardt, an aftermarket limousine manufacturer that built limos for politicians and dignitaries. It comes with a title verified 43,639 actual miles. And it will get you some attention going to the grocery store. Wire wheel covers adorn 15-inch wheels with 235/75R15 tires. Imperfections include numerous spot blemishes on horizontal surfaces akin to tree sap stains, some bubbling and peeling at the corner and edge of a door and notable rust at the bottom rear of the driver’s quarter panel. In their report, the Classic Auto Mall says it drives well and tracks straight. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. They are asking $12,000.
1967 Ford Ranchero
This one just in: Unique Classic Cars out of Mankato, Minnesota comes up with some interesting collector cars each week. This week they just posted a 1967 Ford Ranchero that looks pretty straight and solid in the photos. Panel gaps aren’t bad either. From the photos we see that it has a floor shifted 4-speed with what looks like a Ford V8. The yellow paint is driver quality, but nice. And the undercarriage looks solid (although there is only one photo at this time.) You can contact them for more photos, or have it inspected to get all your questions answered. But hurry. This one won’t last the weekend. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week (if it lasts that long.) They are asking $16,900.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
