Not-Buried Plymouth
Is this the Plymouth Belvedere that was buried in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1957? No, this is not the car. But it is a dead ringer for that famous “Buried Plymouth” which was unearthed out of a concrete vault in 2007.
A haunting duplicate of the famous “time capsule” car, a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere in original Desert Gold with Sand Dune White hardtop was just posted for sale at Ellingson Motorcars in Rogers, Minnesota. The push button automatic 2-Door Hardtop is so rare. And to find one in this famous color combination is nearly impossible. Just like its twin, the “Buried Plymouth,” this Desert Gold Belvedere came with the 301 ci V8 engine producing 235 horsepower with a four-barrel carburetor, mated to a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The dual exhaust with power brakes and power steering made this classic car a pleasure to drive.
In 1957 Plymouth replaced the Cranbrook with the new Belvedere as its top-of-the-line model. This was the first of Chrysler design chief Virgil Exner’s new Forward Look models. The space age design really wow-ed the new car buying public with its Sport Tone side trim and Torsion-Aire Ride. Belvederes sold exceptionally well that year with 67,268 produced.
Scott, at Ellingson Motorcars, did an interesting walk-around video of the ’57 Belvedere. Click here to watch the video inspection. You’ll see the restored interior done as original. This is a great car from a bygone era with significant historical importance. It is perfect for a Mopar collector.

DEALs of the DAY
The ever changing collector car market continues to evolve. Whereas a year ago you couldn’t dream of buying a 1932 Chevrolet Deluxe Coupe like this one for $21,900, here is one today for that very sum. What a find! It is just one of the cars that we have for you this week in our DEAL of the DAY feature (see more below.) The vehicles offered in our DEAL of the DAY feature this week are by far the best selection we’ve had in years. Click here to review the DEALs of the DAY now.
This Weeks Featured Stories
1969 Camaro Z/28 RS
When a Fathom Green 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS was listed this week by MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, Massachusetts we knew we had to feature it here. First generation Z/28’s have virtually vanished from internet listings in the past year. And the top of the food chain is the Z/28 RS with the retractable hidden headlights, the most popular ’69 Z/28 for Camaro collectors. Owners who have Z/28’s are not selling them. So here is a chance to land a desirable one with a Jerry MacNeish report and an NCRS shipping data report. For the uninitiated, MS Classic Cars has an excellent reputation among collector car dealers and only deals in high end classic and collectible vehicles.
Auctions
The Carlisle Auctions company is returning to Lakeland, Florida this year for the Lakeland Winter Auction 2025. They are excited to be taking consignments to the auction at this time and our readers will want to stay tuned to their auction inventory in our listings. We expect about 400+ vehicles to cross the auction floor at the Sun N Fun Expo in Lakeland, February 7-8, 2025. The popular All-Truck Hour will return again this year on Friday, February 7 at 1:30 PM. Their auction inventory is on the Cars-On-Line website this week. Click here to view some of their inventory.
1940 Ford Deluxe
You don’t see stock original 1940 Ford Deluxe sedans like this one very often anymore. There are probably 50 street rods for every stock original sedan like this one still in existence today. This was the first year for the steering column shift lever, an “innovation” that Ford called “finger-tip shift.” This car was restored eight years ago. Look at the undercarriage photos, headliner and carpets in the photos at the link. It is one of the classic cars that will cross the auction block at the Lakeland Winter Auction in Florida next month.
Nova Convertible To Sell
The Carlisle Auctions staff has announced that they will be selling a 1962 Chevy Nova Convertible at the Lakeland Winter Auction 2025 this year in February. These early Novas are getting hard to find. But this one in particular is a special build because it has SS badges and a whopping 454 ci V8 under the hood. How’d they do that? Add to that a Richmond 5-speed transmission and you have transformed this beautiful little Nova into a pocket rocket. Click the link for more info.
2016 Corvette Z06
We noticed a number of interesting late model sports cars in this year’s Lakeland Winter Auction inventory. This 2016 Corvette Z06 Convertible is beautifully designed in Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat paint and black accents in carbon fiber with a black leather interior. Wow! Is this a sharp look. It has both the 3LZ trim package and the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package. Somebody really knew how to order a one-of-a-kind Corvette. To top it off this beauty has only 9,862 actual miles. It will be featured as Lot # 243 in this year’s Lakeland Winter Auction sale, February 7-8, 2025.

1970 Chevelle SS
RK Motors did a great video on this black 1970 Chevelle SS which they just listed this week. It is a raging 502/502 big block Chevelle mated to a Muncie 4-speed. With the F41 suspension, Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes and 12-bolt Eaton posi, the classic muscle car performs better than anything Chevrolet produced from the factory. What we like about the RK Motors video is how they captured the excitement of driving this Chevelle. Get the feel of the road in this short video. Then look through all the photos on the ad page at the link.

Collector Cars with Low Miles
2006 Pontiac G8 GXP
The Pontiac G8 GXP was a great experiment by Pontiac to rival the German BMW and Audi sport sedans. It has an upgraded Nürburgring-tuned FE3 suspension package, as well as larger ventilated Brembo disc brakes. This 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP is being offered for sale at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania this week. They tell us it has only 8,151 actual miles. So its hardly broken in.
Here are more recent Low Miles additions:
1988 Cadillac Eldorado, Primo Classics Int’l, 19k miles
1999 Corvette Convt, North Shore Classics, 39k miles
1997 Camaro Z28, Cassandra’s Motorsports, 49,164 miles
You’ll find these and hundreds more in our Low Miles Section online now.
Project Vehicles for Restoration
1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 6
Oh, yeah. This is gonna’ rock the Mopar collector community. A Tennessee collector had this 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 6 Pack project car to work on. When another interesting car from his past came up for sale he is now having to sell this one to make room. That’s a gift. The Plum Crazy original Cuda is said to be numbers matching except for the transmission. And he says it only has 36,127 original miles.
The following are just some of the cars available in the Project Car Section this week:

Deals of the Day
1960 Impala Convertible
Hurry on this one. A 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible was just listed out of Pennsylvania this week. The seller told us it has a 348 ci V8 with Tripower. During the restoration, the interior was redone in the correct and desirable hound’s tooth red and white vinyl (code 874). Even the carpets look fresh. Have the phone in your hand as you look over the photos. Then make that call. This one won’t last long. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday (if it lasts that long.) The asking price is only $29,700. Contact us to have a pre-purchase inspection to verify the condition. But hurry! This one won’t last long.
1956 Continental Mark II
Another great deal is available onow at Classic & Collectible Cars of Las Vegas. Mike just posted this 1956 Continental Mark II for sale. It has the 368 ci V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power seat and AM radio. He says it is an older restoration, but is still mechanically sound. What’s more, he says it runs and drives well. Click the video window on his ad page to see a walk-around presentation. The interior really looks sharp. This car is worth checking out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is just $18,500.
1938 Packard
We don’t know much about this car. The seller did not write much in his ad copy. So we do suggest you have it inspected before you get too deep in the negotiation on it. But it really looks interesting at this price point. This is a 1938 Packard Coupe from Massachusetts. They say it is stock original with 75k original miles. They also say it was never repainted. However they say the engine has been rebuilt. The only comment the seller makes is that he believes it to be in “good condition.” This could be a crème puff, so it is worth checking out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is $18,000.
1937 Ford Cabriolet
A 1937 Ford Cabriolet was just posted by a collector from the state of Washington. This is a Downs body with lots of $$ spent to build. . It has a Corvette 350 w/polished TPI, 700R4 trans, 9 inch rear, air, power steering,Mustang II rack/front disc, power windows, 2.5″ exh. w/Flowmasters, and nice paint. The car looks so nice in the photos, you might wonder what it is doing in the DEAL of the DAY feature? The seller says it was in storage for an extended amount of time. Now the injectors need to be replaced, he says. He doesn’t have time to deal with it. His loss … your gain. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. The asking price is only $28,000.
1965 Ford Galaxie 500XL
A Canadian collector is selling his 1965 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertibe. He says it was restored many years ago and has been used lightly ever since. Furthermore, he says it is in good condition with no issues. He says the interior is all original with no rips, wear or tears. And he notes that the 390 ci V8 big block runs well. He says the transmission is “perfect.” He says he has a local Canadian company that can ship it right to your door. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. His asking price is $15,000. (Because we have inspectors in Canada, we suggest you have it inspected before you buy.)
1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster
They say this rare 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster Tudor sedan represents a “high dollar restoration with no expense spared.” It was a one-owner Business Coupe that has been loved and restored by the original owner’s family. It is being offered for sale at Coyote Classics in Greene, Iowa. They consider this classic Chevrolet to be in “show quality” condition with very nice maroon paint and a detailed engine compartment. They say the painted undercarriage is very solid. Click here to watch their walk-around video and take it for a test drive. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. They are asking $24,995.
1980 Pontiac Trans Am
With Pony cars seeming to escalate in value in this market, it is unlikely that you would find one for a DEAL of the DAY price, right? Not!! Here is a 1980 Pontiac Trans Am that was just listed for less than $30,000. Yes, this Trans Am is for sale through Classic Car Liquidators in Sherman, Texas. They specialize in wholesale priced collector cars such as this one. Not only does it have bold orange finish, but it has the shaker hood and rear spoiler that tells you what it is. Click this link to view a walk-around video and hear it run. It has a 301 V8 paired seamlessly with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, giving you smooth power, dual exhaust and front and rear sway bars which keep the driving experience tight and engaging. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $27,999.
