How hard would it be to find another 1969 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV Convertible like the one you see here? Well, you would be more likely to find a Hemi Cuda Convertible or a Chevelle LS6 454 Convertible than this scarcely seen GTO. To amplify the word “rare” … it is 1 of just 59 Ram Air IV convertibles made in 1969, 1 of 45 with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is being offered for sale this week at REV! Muscle Cars, an internet broker out of Illinois.
REV! Muscle Cars is selling this beautiful Ram Air IV GTO for a client in California. It has Verdoro Green paint and a parchment interior.
The Ram Air IV was the mother of all engine options for Pontiac. Available on the GTO, it was most often ordered with the Judge package. To compete against the monster Hemi motors from Mopar, Pontiac had this special engine package called the Ram Air IV which raised 400 ci V8 engine performance to 370 horsepower. The Ram Air IV was introduced in 1969 and was available also for the 1970 production year.
The Ram Air IV was a 400 ci V8 with a high-rise aluminum intake and redesigned intake ports. To implement the RA IV package meant Pontiac would use new cylinder heads, rockers and radical camshaft with an aluminum intake and a Quadrajet carburetor. The manifold had a large “IV’ cast in it. In 1968, Pontiac had introduced a new cylinder head configuration which used, for the first time, a “round port” exhaust allowing the engine to wind out. Not only did it increase exhaust flow by 10 percent, but it made it easier for race teams to fit headers. In order to maximize the exhaust flow they devised a new hydraulic lifter camshaft.
You can hear the distinct sound of the Ram Air IV in a video produced by REV! Muscle Cars. Click here to review the walk-around video and hear it run.

Ram 1500 Revolution
Stellantis is promoting the scheduled introduction of the 2024 Ram 1500 Revolution to be available to the public at Dodge dealers in the fourth quarter of 2024. Although you cannot get one today, you can order your new Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) and be in the cue for its release. (Supposedly very soon.) This will be a mid-size electric truck produced along the lines of the 1500 Revolution BEV concept truck which you may have seen demo’ed at recent New Car Shows around the country. They dropped the RAM BEV on attendees of the SEMA Convention this week. The RAM BEV may be better than the Ford or GM alternative. It sure looks more “space age” in its design. New “Daytime running lamps” and the LED RAM logo on the front of the vehicle slaps you in the eyeballs right away. The 24″ wheels have a one-off design never before seen. A real 4-door truck, the rear door opens like a “suicide” door exposing the entire interior. The fenders pop up canteleaver style to give you incredible access to the bed. And the rear tailgate has two sections so that it will open as a tailgate or as two swing out doors. The interior back seats fold down and a power mid-gate allows you to load longer items from the bed into the passenger area. The entire bed has been reimagined as a work space. The interior has a 20″ touchscreen display which removes like a tablet. They call the suspension a Quadralift system which automatically balances the load for ride level. The entire roof of the RAM 1500 Revolution is an open panaramic glass roof. The feeling of sitting in this premium interior is amazing. Just like the Ford F-150 electric, they say you can invert the electric battery to power an entire house just like a generator. What Stellantis is offering is truly “Revolution-ary”. 1993 Jaguar XJ220 Supercar
The mystique behind the introduction of Jaguar’s most exotic supercar of all time is one of those great stories to come out of automotive history. Back in the late 1980’s when exotic cars were all the rage, Jaguar engineers set out to produce the fastest and sexiest sports car of all time. When the Jaguar XJ220 was introduced to the public at the Birmingham International Motor Show in 1988 it rocked the automotive world. A Turbo V6 engine was developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing producing 542 horsepower, and Jaguar wrapped it in beautiful aluminum coachwork. As the story goes, Jaguar received 1,400 down payments on the £290,000 asking price. However, this 1993 Jaguar XJ220 is one of only 282 examples which were actually produced. It is being offered for sale at Legendary Motorcar Company. They tell us it still has only 780 miles, and remains a collector grade example.
Shelby 289 Cobra
In 2012, Carroll Shelby decided to produce a limited run of 50 new 289 Cobras to commemorate the anniversary of the first slab sided roadsters which are now legendary. This 1962 Shelby Cobra 50th Anniversary Edition is Number 13 in that production run. It is being offered for sale through REV! Muscle Cars, an Illinois auto broker. They say it has only 171 actual miles. It is designated CSX8962 out of the CSX8000 series. When Shelby announced the 50th Anniversary Edition roadster would be produced, it is said that every car was sold within 48 hours. This Number 13 is seen in its Raven Black finish with triple chromed roadster bumpers. The Cobra is powered by an original iron block 289 stroked to 347 Cubic Inches. The engine, making over 400HP, is backed by a Tremec 5-speed transmission. It is an amazing piece of Shelby history.
Puma GTE 1600
Here is one you don’t see very often. A 1978 Puma GTE 1600 was just listed for sale. The Puma was produced by Volkswagen in Brazil. The Puma GTE (the “E” designation was for Export models) was produced with a fiberglass body and Volkswagen engines between 1970 and 1980. It has a flat 4 cylinder engine with 1600 cc. This one is being offered for sale at Carbuffs in Concord, California. They say it is a one-owner Puma purchased in 1977. It was refurbished in 2020, including a 1600 engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, new clutch and rebuilt front suspension. However the paint, interior, glass and wheels are all original to the car. They say it has only 18,500 miles from new, and that the car runs and drives “great.” Click here to review a walk-around video and hear it run.

1967 Pontiac GTO Tiger
REV! Muscle Cars has come up with another incredible find. Remember the 1967 Pontiac GTO Giveaway car in the special order color Tiger Gold? Thom Mcan retail shoe stores were offering to give away 22 Tiger Gold GTO’s with custom factory features. The promotion was great for both the shoe stores and for Pontiac in getting the word out about their GTO. This 1967 Pontiac GTO was won by a family from St. Louis. It is now one of only three Thom Mcan Giveaway cars known to exist. It has the 400 ci HO engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. Collector Cars with Low Miles
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
This amazing find is a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado being offered for sale by Vanguard Motor Sales in Plymouth, Michigan. Why is it in such exceptional original condition? Maybe it is because there are only 117 original miles on the car from new. Finished in beautiful Pewter paint with a brown interior, it has the elegant vinyl half roof. As you would expect, they say the big Cadillac drives “amazing” with factory power steering, power brakes and air conditioning.

1951 Ford Custom
A private party owner from Missouri tells us his 1940 Chevy Deluxe street rod is the “cat’s whiskers.” With all new parts on this car it could not be reproduced for less than $288,000 he tells us. From the new 350 ci small block motor to the new rear end, air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes and mag wheels, it is as nice as you can imagine. It even has power rack n pinion steering, new paint and new floors. When he first listed this car he was asking $130,000. But just this week he dropped his price to $54,000. Now that’ what I’m talkin’ about.

Muscle Car Clones
GTO Judge Convertible Tribute
Wow! Is this a sharp looking muscle car. The Classic Auto Mall has this 1970 Pontiac GTO Convertible for sale this week. It is a GTO Judge Tribute done in Polar White with a white top. There were only 168 convertible Judges in ’70, so finding a real one will be tough. They say this one is a pretty accurate tribute. With a Ram Air hood and rear spoiler, this Judge really presents well. Not only is it a GTO convertible, but it comes with Judge stripes. And the price is right. How can you lose?
The following are more recently listed Muscle Car Clones:
1972 Chevelle, Streetside Tampa, SS tribute

Deals of the Day
1967 Fairlane 500
It is uncanny how popular the mid-60’s Ford Fairlanes are. So many of them were used up at the drag strips back then that you don’t see them that much anymore. Here is a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 being offered by Coyote Classics in Greene, Iowa. There is one problem. It is obvious from the photos that the Medium Gold metallic paint on the driver door does not match. Otherwise there is a lot to like about this survivor Ford with only 53,349 original miles. Look at the photos. It has a very clean original interior, solid undercarriage and a 289 ci small block V8 with a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has Cragar SS wheels with Cooper Cobra tires. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is only $26,995.
1956 Oldsmobile 88
Coyote Classics also has this spectacular buy, a 1956 Oldsmobile 88 4-Door classic car for sale this week. They tell us it still has just 30,500 original miles and was owned by the same family all its life. It has the 324 ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The paint is not perfect. They tell us it shows well with a little patina. But the body and undercarriage are “very solid.” Most important, they say it runs and drives “fantastic.” Click here to view a walk-around video inspection and hear it run. You will note that the interior is all original, a true time capsule. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. They are asking $13,995. Hurry on this one!
1954 Chrysler Windsor
A private party seller from Georgetown, Texas is offering his 1954 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe 2-Door Sedan for sale. As you look at the photos you’ll know why this car looks so good. They say it has only 40,450 actual miles. The classic Chrysler comes with an automatic transmission, original gray paint (no extra charge for the patina), and a newer interior that is in great shape. The seller says it “runs great” with many new parts. I’m impressed with the photo of the interior and the engine compartment. It would be a good policy to have it inpsected before you buy so you know whether it is a good fit for you. But don’t wait too long. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $16,000.
1951 Ford Custom
Now if only this advertiser had given us some really nice calendar shots of this flamed 1951 Ford 2-Door Custom. He has a great car to view and get up close to. It looks like there is lots of detail to inspect. You should have an inspection report done on this one. He says it is a good old school style custom with custom gold flames and red metal flake paint. It looks as though the interior was done right (again, only a pre-purchase inspection will tell the full story.) He says it has newer gauges, new battery and runs and drives well. The seller is getting up there in age, so he wants to provide his ride with a new home. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. The asking price is only $15,000. Hurry!!!
1982 Fiat Spider
One of the best two-seater sports car produced in the 1980’s was the Fiat Spider. Here we have a 1982 Fiat Spider being offered for sale at Unique Classic Cars in Mankato, Minnesota. It has had only one owner. Certainly if you look at the photos you are going to see issues with the paint. However it is powered b a 2.0L twin cam engine with a 5-speed transmission and 4-wheel power assist brakes. The tan bucket seat interior has simulated wood grain dash and you will notice some wear on the driver’s seat. It has a manual convertible top. Click here to review a detailed walk-around video inspection done by Unique. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week. They are only asking $12,900.
1980 Corvette T-Top
To me this is what a Corvette should look like. This red 1980 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe with mirrored black T-Tops is what many of us Baby Boomers think of when you say the word “Corvette.” This is a low mileage example with just 38,489 miles. What a find! The Ivory leather interior exudes the kind of Corvette charm you would expect. What would people think if you showed up at your local car show in this ride? Under the hood lies the original, numbers matching 350 ci V8 hooked up to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. The dual exhaust sounds good. Click here to review a walk-around inspection and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is only $19,999.
1979 Lincoln Mark V
There might be no other automotive design in history as elegant was the 1970’s Lincoln Contientnals. This 1979 Lincoln Conntinental Mark V Collectors Series was just listed for sale. This big white classic luxury car is smooth and comfortable. The robust V8 engine and refined automatic transmission complement the ride. The private party seller from Iowa says the car shows only 84k miles. The stunning color combination and alloy wheels add to its classic charm. This was the most expensive U.S. manufactured automobile in 1979. They say it is in excellent condition inside and out. It is the perfect car for the collector. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $11,995.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
1976 Camaro | $18,000 | Morgantown, PA |
1975 Chrysler New Yorker | $12,995 | Greene, IA |
1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille | $12,900 | Alsip, IL |
1995 Jaguar XJ6 | $16,900 | Marietta, GA |
1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille | $10,995 | Ft Worth, TX |
