Baldwin-Motion Camaro
The term “restomod” is the most over worked word in the collector car lexicon. By definition it is called a “restomod” when it looks classic original, but runs like a modern day high performance super car. Of course, there are all different levels of sophistication in restomod and pro touring cars today, from muscle car daily drivers to full on concours quality show cars.
This week we have the best selection of Pro Touring and Restomod muscle cars we have ever seen here in the COL newsletter. Our feature car today comes from Earth Motorcars out of Carrollton, Texas, in the North Dallas area. They call it a 1969 Baldwin Motion Big Block Camaro, a true show quality build with a good story behind it. It literally defines what a restomod should be.
You may remember when in 2005 Joel Rosen and Marty Schorr helped bring back the Baldwin-Motion name for a limited run of hand built Camaro SuperCoupes under the Baldwin-Motion brand. Earth MotorCars tells us this custom restored Camaro comes with the Baldwin-Motion Certificate of Authenticity. That means it has the Baldwin Motion 572ci V8 Crate Engine producing 690hp and 710 ft pounds of torque. The big block motor has Merlin III aluminum heads, Merlin III intake and Custom Holley carburetors. It is seen here in its House of Kolors “TruBlue Pearl” finish. You will note that it has been mini-tubbed and has a 4-link with Detroit Speed suspension. This car cost $200,000 to build. The first car of this series sold for $486,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale.
See the selection of quality restomod and pro touring muscle cars here in the newsletter this week. Then check out the hundreds more in the Restomod Section of the Cars-On-Line website.

Delivery Scam
We’ve noticed an uptick in the number of texts and emails we have gotten recently involving the Delivery Scam. We thought we should notify our readers about this one because it is likely you will be buying Christmas gifts online and you need to know how to identify the Delivery Scam. The scam works like this. You get a text or email telling you that a delivery service (USPS, FedEx or UPS) is unable to complete delivery to your house. The delivery is at their warehouse waiting to be delivered. Then they want you to click a link to fill out a form to complete the delivery. Usually they want your credit card to charge a small fee to “redeliver” your package. The whole thing is a scam. The US Post Office, FedEx and UPS all say they would not send you a text or email to ask for personal information to complete a delivery. The scammers could be looking to get your identity, your credit card info or may actually place maleware on your computer from that link they send you. It is important not to click on the link they send. Watch this YouTube explanation of this scam.

1950 Buick Roadmaster
In 1950 Buick was just reaching the peak of its prominence in the new car market here in the U.S. Its styling was magnificent with all that chrome. And the options you could get with a ’50 Buick were amazing for the era. Here is a beautiful 1950 Buick Roadmaster 70 Series Convertible, the very top-of-the-line for Buick. It is being offered for sale this week through Classical Gas Motors out of Texas. 1950 Roadmaster featured a 152 horsepower, 320 cubic inch OHV Straight-eight “Fireball” engine, the optional Dynaflow two-speed automatic transmission, hydraulic brakes, coil spring suspension and plenty of posh, luxurious equipment such as power windows, an analog clock (working), working dual cowl-mounted spotlights, and a power-adjustable front bench seat.

A multiple Best of Show winner, it was also featured in Muscle Cars Magazine.
1967 Ferrari 330GT 2+2
Few of us will ever know the exhilaration of roaring down the road in a very responsive and agile 1967 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 such as the one being offered for sale today at Gullwing Motor Cars in New York. This Series II version with the single-headlights on each side has been in the same collection for 40 years. It comes with its Marcel Massini report for authenticity. They say it is in very good condition overall with nice straight body panels. This is the European version not sold here in the U.S. With only 99k klicks on the odometer they say it termed a “very nice driver.” Click through to see the photo of the nicely detailed V-12 engine compartment. Auctions

Next week the Lakeland Collector Car Auction will be held at the Sun N Fun Expo near Lakeland, Florida. It is the last chance for many collectors to find a great classic car or truck before the car show season ends. The Lakeland Collector Car Auction is put on by Carlisle Auctions. It will be held November 10-11, 2023. Here are a few of their auction offerings recently listed on the Cars-On-Line.com website.
’57 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner
A 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner will be one of the star cars at the Lakeland Collector Car Auction by Carlisle Auctions next week. They say the Starmist Blue over Colonial White paint is stunning with excellent chrome and bumpers. And it is reported that the new white top works “perfectly.” Look under the hood where the Thunderbird dress-up kit is detailed perfectly. You can see why this classic Ford was a magazine feature car. Watch for it to cross the auction floor on Saturday.
All Truck Hour
In the first hour of the auction on Friday, November 10, 2023, they traditionally hold the “All Truck Hour” where top quality pickup trucks are offered to the highest bidders. This 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT Dually will be one of those trucks heavily bid on. It is in excellent condition as shown and they say it runs perfectly. Having been garage kept it has the Super 5.9L HO Cummings Diesel motor and HD automatic transmission. They say it runs perfectly.
1967 Camaro Restomod
Then on Saturday you will get a chance to bid on a 1967 Camaros Restomod muscle car. The Pony car has a 572 ci big block engine said to put out 620 horsepower and 650 foot pounds of torque. It transfers power through a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and sounds great with Flowmaster exhaust. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood disc brakes, and it has a B&M Pistol Grip shifter. The interior was completely redone with Dakota Digital gauges. They say over $100k was invested. I bet you could bid and get it for less than it cost to build.

2003 Mach 1 Mustang
After its initial run during the muscle car era, Ford has come out with special edition retro Mustang Mach 1’s for sale. They have always been very popular with Ford buyers. Here is a 2003 Mustang Mach 1 being offered for sale by Country Classic Cars in Staunton, Illinois. Finished in yellow it sits on 18-inch wheels and they say it is in excellent condition and runs even better. With high miles, the price is definitely right. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is only $13,800.
1938 Packard Coupe
It looks like we are having a big run on affordably priced Packard classic cars this week. Here is a 1938 Packard Tudor Sedan being offered by a private seller from Charlton, Massachusetts. He told us it was in “really good condition” with only 75,000 original miles. We believe you could call it a survivor because he says it has never been repainted. The engine however has been rebuilt. Call the seller. He will be happy to tell you all about it. When it showed up In our Packard Section this week we knew it has to be featured here. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $25,000.
1940 Packard 120 Sedan
The Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania also has a Packard for sale this week at an affordable price. Here is a 1940 Packard 120 Sedan which, they say, has been well preserved and replete with Packard regalia. With its tall vertical ribbed chromed grille, bullet style headlights, turn signal housings, double guard bumper additions, and a standard hood ornament, the beautifully aligned 4-door sedan is a blast from the past. The taupe gray broadcloth interior gives it period authenticity as you realize how big these cars were. Lots of legroom here. The interior has some missing items and might need to be restored. Under the hood is the inline 8-cylinder engine with a 2-barrel side draft carburetor. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their asking price is $24,000.
1950 Lincoln Sport Sedan
Unique Classic Cars out of Mankato, Minnesota has a rare 1950 Lincoln Sport Sedan for sale this week. The paint has a patina’d look to it as the same family owned this vehicle for 45 years. The car has been left stock original which will appeal to some collectors. It is still running on the 6-volt system. Click here to watch a full review in a walk-around video. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. They are asking $14,900.
1950 Chrysler Royal Sedan
In the 1960’s it was common to see a car like this rooming the streets. They were “old cars” then, a term used pejoratively back in the day. But with age, this 1950 Chrysler Royal Sedan is actually starting to look pretty good. It has been listed for sale through the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. They say it is an awesomely preserved and well kept example, ready to turn the key and go. It handles as it should, they say. Some surface rust will be noted underneath. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday next week. Their asking price is $16,500.
1952 Dodge Wayfarer Sedan
Likewise, the Classic Auto Mall is offering this popular Dodge brand from the past. It is a 1952 Dodge Wayfarer Sedan. We don’t know exactly why, but anytime we get a Wayfarer in they seem to sell quickly. 1952 Was the last year they made the Wayfarer, and this one says 4,943 miles on the odometer. (Unfortunately, that is not documented.) You can imagine what a survivor car like this is worth. The photos show a pristine engine compartment where the 230 ci L-head 6 cylinder engine resides. It has the Gyro-Matic 4-speed fluid drive semi-automatic transmission as well. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. They are asking $21,000.

This one came with 4-wheel disc brakes, twin exhaust finishers, sunroof, front fog lights, front spoiler, leather headliner/trim, American Platinum tires, alloy wheels and the tool kit.
