Camaro SS . The "TONY" Camaro is for sale.
Black/Black 1968 Camaro SS396. Owned by Tony Machado and tuned/driven by Harvey Lawson in SoCal and Div 7, in storage for many many years.
Last raced at the 1990 Winternationals by Harveys' nephew, Dave Nunes.
We also believe this is the 1971 Winter nationals B/Stock Class winning car, driven by Harvey Lawson as shown in the photo taken from Hot Rod Magazines class winners page, April 1971 issue. This SS/D Camaro is in it's last raced condition, from the early 90s. It is a piece of NHRA Div 7 history, but not currently raceable. c12 is 110 octane fuel
396/375 with correct original FACTORY ALUMINUM heads and CHEV. HOLLEY carb, hooker 2 1/4 inch headers. Blueprinted to period S/S specs, requires C12 minimum to start, does start and runs fine, has fresh push loc fuel lines and new high amp battery. Nash 5 Speed, Lakewood bellhousing, Dana 60, ladder bars, 4 wheel JFZ discs. Period polished super tricks in good condition. Original bolt in Lakewood roll bar has been removed and rear seat reinstalled, would need complete chassis updating to run currently. As far as we know Tony bought this car new and was running it in stock eliminator by 1970, winning B/S as noted above at the 71 winternationals. Includes the original black/yellow Ca. plates. Car was featured in two different Camaro specialty magazines published by Petersen, copies come with purchase. Odometer reads 12,382 and we believe that to be the accurate street mileage. Painted by Danny Gracia in the 70s, paint has some laquer checking, chipping and wear but considering this cars use, it is in remarkable condition! The Tony Camaro can se seen by appointment in the Los Angles area. We will cooperate with your shipper or delivery at market rates possible, depending on our schedule at the time.
