Boss 351 Mustang. THE BOSS! Very rare. Only 1806 Boss 351 Mustangs were produced by Ford in 1971 and only 591 of are known to exist today. The Boss 351 Mustang was perhaps the most balanced, all-around best performing Boss' Ford ever made, capable of 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 14.1 seconds at 100.6 mph. Behind this performance was a specially developed 351 Cleveland small block engine which developed 330 HP/370 lbs ft of torque.
When you checked off the Boss 351 block on your invoice in 1971, you got the brutal 351 Boss engine, 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter, a 3.91 geared Traction-Lok rear end, "Ram Air" induction hood, power front disc brakes, "competition" suspension, full guages, HD cooling package, dual mirrors, driving lights, high-back bucket seats, sport rims, and F60 Wide-O-Oval tires.
This rare and beautifully done 1971 Boss 351 Mustang retains its "born with" Boss 351 engine, wide-ratio 4-speed transmission and 3.91 geared Traction-Lok rear axle. It's beautifully re-finished in its original "Grabber Yellow" exterior with black vinyl, high-back bucket seat interior. This vehicle is optioned with all the "Boss 351" package items you see above and power steering, AM radio, Sport Deck rear seat, and center console.
The collector-quality vehicle is documented with the Lois Eminger Report (Internal Ford invoice), Marti Report and original sales paperwork from its first private buyer in 1972. The vehicle's first owner was Ford Motor Corp itself and it was delivered originally to the Ford Scientific Research Lab in Dearborn, MI.
This Boss 351 runs/drives excellent and is very strong. It's a vehicle you can drive or show with confidence and due to its rarity, is sure to appreciate in the future.
