Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe. Colonial Cream & India Ivory
VIN # VC57F20----
I've owned this car since May,1989. This BelAir has undergone a professional, photo documented, frame off restoration done in 1990-1992. At that time the original 283 Power Pak V8 was completely rebuilt using hardened valves and a mild cam. The frame was sandblasted and painted high gloss black as was the engine compartment, underside of the hood and inner and outer fender wells. Stainless brake lines, fuel lines and stainless dual exhaust were installed. A complete interior restoration included correct date coded and tinted glass, seat covers, rugs, headliner and door panels. I have 8 pages of items that were replaced at the time. In June, 1992 this car appeared on the cover of the Golden Chevy Shop News after receiving a ring of Gold Certification from Mr. Harold Louisiana, one of the most knowledgable restorers of these Tri-Five Chevys. In 1993 it was awarded a Top Ten Editors Choice at the Super Chevy Show held at Raceway Park, Englishtown NJ. In October, 1994 the car won a First Junior award at the AACA Fall Meet at Hershey, Pa. It has received numerous awards at local car shows and cruise nights, has appeared on dash plaques and posters and turns heads whenever and wherever it's driven.
In 2003-2004 a number of upgrades were done as follows: The original Powerglide transmission was replaced with a Turbo 350, the generator was replaced with a new alternator, front disc brakes with dual master cylinder, power steering (605 box), Ididit tilt column, LeCarra steering wheel, Classic Instruments gauges, Diamondback whitewall radials mounted on Rally rims with center caps and trim rings, electric windshield wipers, LED taillights, halogen headlights, new gas tank, Pioneer AM/FM/CD installed in the glove box with under the seat speakers, new front bumper, new hood bar and hood bar extensions, front sway bar, new hood springs and new hood hinges.
This car is rust free, laser straight and drives great. The stainless and chrome are excellent. The paint has a few stone chips from years of enjoyable driving. I've kept this car in a heated garage at my home and welcome all intelligent offers.
