Packard Patrician . 4 dr. Sedan
VIN - 5582-2464
Medium Blue/White Ext.
Blue/Gold Brocade & Leather Int.
This car was "frame-on" restored in 1992. The previous owner never quite completed putting all the trim on the car. The engine was removed and rebuilt. It has been driven less than 1,000 miles since that time. It has been in dry, heated storage for 16 years. We believe that all the trim pieces are in the trunk. The "skirts" for the back wheel wells are not. We have seen them for sale on eBay. The paint on this car is still in very good condition. The upholstery, carpet and headliner are also in good condition. Some seams have opened up but can be re-stitched. The foam rubber in the front seat bottom should be replaced. The "padded" dash is bad and needs replacing. We have a shop nearby that will do an excellent job on it for $240.00. The "Twin-turbine" Ultramatic transmission operates in "L", "D2" & "R". It needs new gaskets as it leaks from the upper case. The engine starts and runs. It is rough until it warms up then settles down. It probably needs a complete tune-up. The "bat wing" air cleaner is not pictured but comes with the car. The cars power steering, power brakes, lights etc. all work. The "Temp" gage does not. Oil pressure at idle is slightly high of the middle of the gage. There are many small details needed to finish the car but aside from the transmission, nothing major. Completely remanufactured Ultramatic's are available from a firm in Virginia by that name. There is NO rodent damage to this car. This car is reasonably reserved and would make a fairly simple "over-the-winter" project. The 1955 Patrician is an excellent over the road car and because it has power steering not bad around town either. This car would make a great cruiser with very little effort. Inquiries are invited Offers encouraged.
